PAKISTAN JUMPSUITS???
Can't Post
HI FRIENDS, I have received an email from a jumpsuits company in pakistan Anyone knos them?? Some of the pics of the jumpsuits are taked from a German company.
Two of the pictures on the wed site come from RMW jumpsuits web site here in Australia.
www.rmwjumpsuits.com
A pity they didn't credit the photographers as well!
Their next step is to contact all the jumpsuit manufacturers to say they have manufacturing facilities and experience and hence can make skydiving suits for them cheaper.
I don't believe that was the same company, but it was from the same region
I got some from a different company, but as Tim said, still in the same area of Pakistan. The suits were really well made and I use them mainly for tandem students. In fact I have a couple more on order right now. The company I got mine from was Frexer, and my dealings with them have been really good and professionally conducted (although I seem to have become the owners new e-pen pal). Their website wasn't a rip off (although it was riddled with an amazing number of adjectives) and featured Pakistani models showing the range of suits.
I visited their site and sent them an email requesting pricing information. They kindly responded and are awaiting my response. Is the quality of the suits you've purchased through them such that you believe they will last long enough to make it worth my while to purchase a freefly suit from them?
I wouldn't say scam. Just you get what you pay for.
You pay for what you get where the minimum is set by the costs of materials, labor, shipping, and taxes.
I paid my rigger $40 for materials on my last jumpsuit plus about $175 in labor which would have covered a half day's work at his usual rates. The result was better built than a Dakine suit.
The average annual income in Pakistan is $2400 a year. Making the math easy by assuming 5 day work weeks with 2 weeks off each year that's $8 a day.
So I should be able to have the same suit made by a Pakistani taillor for under $50.
Welcome to globalization.

The suits that I got were RW suits (I got these from Frexer not from jumpswear) and are excellent quality. I am using them for my tandem students. I have a couple of Freefly suits coming to use as tandem instructor suits, they are due anyday, if you want to hang on I'll let you know how they are and post a pic for ya!
The suits I have so far are all double needle sewn, reinforced butts, overlocked and well made. I paid $35 each for them plus shipping. I'll report on the Freefly suits when they get here..........
Could you please provide contact info from them. I need to get a RW suit that doesn't break my student bank, and I can skid into earth on and not cry when I stain it all up!!!

Perfect! Thank you! Frexer was quite enthusiastic in their reply to my initial contact, and I don't doubt their integrity or sincerity. I've simply come to rely on first-hand experience with jumpsuits and taking that advice to heart. I look forward to hearing your impressions on the freefly suits.
you guys need to travel more....anything out of India/Pakistan/Sri Lanka that involves sewing is most likely legit. They are some bad ass tailors. AND they are cheap. you get what you pay for does NOT apply to tailored goods from SEAsia/Indian subcontinent for the most part. Of course there are scams, but when it comes to anything sewn, you are pretty much okay. Cambodia is the exception - as much as I love the country, everything I bought there has fallen apart, including the books....
Do you think it may be possible that the suits made in these countries are built using child labour???
Just a Thought Cookie
No. I live in Thailand (equally 3rd world) and have an Indian background (so have frequented as a native India & Pakistan a lot), it's not child labour... it's just cheap because there is an over supply of labour in these countries and so the "skill" that earns heaps of money in Western countries isn't very valuable there because everyone can/ is willing to do it. It's the same reason why everything is made in China these days.. over supply of labour = cheap labour = low cost of good.

Hey - if it's good enough for Kathie Lee Gifford, it's good enough for me.......
actually I told the owner that I was probably traveling to India later this year and he asked me to come visit his production facility in Pakistan. I doubt he'd do that if he was running a child sweatshop, although I did let slip I can sew a little, maybe he just wants to handcuff me to a sewing machine

The 2 freefly suits showed up, they are heavy duty, double needled and all seams overlocked. I asked for them to be a little baggy as we plan on using them as tandem suits and mine seems just fine. The velcro fastenings are commercial grade, there is a pocket on the left leg and (for $40 plus $25 shipping) I'm happy with it. I've attached a couple of pics..........
Lets all get together on a group buy, maybe we can save shipping that way. Sid sent me a RW suit that is too tight, but I definetly want to get a suit or two from these guys. The suit Sid sent me was very well built.

If y'all do that be aware there sizes are "small" - I think Pakistani's may be a little "slightly built" compared to the average American
A group buy sounds good on the surface, but we'd have to arrange shipping to each location once it made it to the States, or arrange with them to ship to various locations and I'm not sure how amenable to that idea they would be. I suppose we could always ask and see if it makes a difference.
For a chunky lad like myself, I'm guessing I'd need to let them know I need my suit to be larger than the average Pakistani? Do you know if they have suits that will fit a 5'11", 215lbs guy?

I'd ask them. Just make sure you don't go by US sizing markers. For instance that suit in the pic is marked XL and I'm 5' 7" and 175 lbs........ it fits well, but XL????? Maybe in Karachi
However, that being said they sew them to order (because they provided the colors I requested) , just tell them your actual size.......
You picked those colors, I just assumed that they fucked up the order.
ouch yeah - I'm in a retro black and white phase right now............ still think I should have had them make the ass green though - "Feet UP! We're gonna slide........"
I just received my Frexer suit, and I'm quite pleased with it already. It fits comfortably (I sent them measurements, since I'm a bit larger than the average Pakistani), it looks sharp and it seems solidly constructed. I won't know how it holds up to my particular brand of abuse until I fly it, but I'm expecting the best from it. I'll post pics and more information on it after this weekend.
Just received two suits and a helmet from frexer. Mr. Butt was certainly a bit agressive on the email front . I ordered one "charlatan" freefly suit, one "freefall" rw suit and one "neophyte" helmet. Delivery to Sweden was ~3 weeks from order.
I ordered standard XXL sizes as their sizing chart indicated I should fit i that.
The suits seem to be of good quality build, but they are obviously not made by skydivers.
The freefly suit fits fine, although it seems to be a bit baggy. The ankle "muffs" are just elastic so I suspect it will travel up my legs in headup flying.
The rw suit is practically useless for me. I suspect that if I'd have sent them some exact measurements they would have made a good fit for me. As it is the torso is too short, the ass too wide and the booties don't really give me any warm fuzzy feelings. Also the grippers are a bit too small for my taste. I'll donate this one to our tandem operation, it might fit some passengers well enough, and it's cool looking enough.
The helmet is a plain ripoff of the Factory diver helmet from Sky Systems. The quality of build and finish is nowhere near that of the original, but it is comfortable. I've yet to try and fit my prodytter in it, but it seems like a very tight fit.
old thread, I know, but it might be worth a shot to revive it..
anyone out there with any recent experiences with suits or gear made in Pakistan? I'm currently based here and thinking it might be worth a shot to try to have a freefly-suit made, maybe based on my Boogieman-suit or have them do a copy from photos etc..
I'm not really expecting it to be nowhere near the quality of Boogieman, Sonic, Vertical, Liquidsky etc, but seeing I'm here I might just give it a shot.. it doesn't cost much and I won't have any cost of shipping or customs..
anybody with recommendations on where to go? Frexer, Jumspwear (can't find a site for them), another company..?
O once knew someone w/a distant family member who married a Pak. Once a year, she'd give him her latest glasses prescription to fill over there. Glasses cost about $400 here. Hers only cost about $6 in Pakistan... She could see just fine w/them (weak Rx).
They've no experience making our suits. Still, you'll probably get several suits for $100.
