That's right folks!!! It's almost here. For those of you who attended last year I don't need to tell you WHY YOU SHOULD BE THERE!! For that didn't check out the thread from last year for all the dirty pics (there's some floating around in the bonfire too. Last year we had well over 200 registrants and we want to break 300 this year!
Seriously - this is one of the best boogies (and parties) you'll attend this year!!
Here are the details so far:

The Promo: The 7th annual Atlanta Freeflight Festival The worlds largest all freefly event. EVERYONE from ALL DISCIPLINES are welcome but it will be primarily freeflying.

Saturday night: With registration: Free dinner from Scotty Carbone and Cutaway Cafe Free beer, free RedBull & Mandarin
Costume Contest with prizes- Must be a current jumper to win
1st place- TBA
2nd place-Alti-2 Neptune
3rd place- prize pack
Followed by: Party with free beer, RedBull & Mandarin DJ's, magicians, fire breathers, jugglers, a psychic, aerial performance, laser light show, and a super secret special event sure to never be forgotten and like nothing you've ever seen at a DZ party!

We've added 3,000 additional square feet of packing area for a total of 6,500 square feet. We've added RV slots with power- First come, first serve Camping area with power And more to come!

We are planning on arriving THURSDAY so we will be ready to rock and roll by Friday and hopefully get some jumps in early on during the boogie "god knows we need them" . What is the closest hotel to the dropzone? The NorCal peeps want to camp out in style.. (actually i just dont want to be bothered with hauling camping stuff all the way there.. )
Yep what Mark said. The Days Inn, Best Western and Jameson Inn are all about the same distance (5 miles) from the DZ. The Jameson is probably the nicest, but the Best Western and Days Inn will have the best rates.
What Ian said is right, the Jameson is the nicest, the other 2 are cheaper. I am working on rates with Jameson for the event. Over in Barnesville, about 10 minutes in the other direction from Thomaston is the Sun Inn as well.

Barnesville: Sun Inn 770-358-1700
Thomaston has Super Walmart, Chili's, Home Depot, and anything else you might need. Barnesville is a little sparse.

Yes there will be, and No they absolutely are NOT bastard children here. The organizing is generally freefly orientated but I'm sure Scotty and Chris will throw some things together.
There aren't too many RW folk as Thomaston cause they bitch about jumping the King Air. Funny thing is that I've seen some 14 ways built out of Mullins plane and there are a shitload of RW people out there.
My conclusion - RW are whiney and spoilt

Yes, I think we are planning on leaving Thursday evening and returning Sunday evening. Sporto wants to compete in the VRW meet. What are your plans? Did you buy tickets yet?
Everybody brings a costume or accessories (or two) in a paper or no clear plastic bag. All are put in a pile and we come up with a way to distribute them, (first come/first serve, by jump #, etc.) You go up, grab a bag, and wear that costume. If you want to be one of the cool kids you'll only wear what's in the bag. If you want to trade costumes with someone, you can, but only after both of you are in costume and only in the middle of the hangar.
Costume ideas: Saran wrap, toilet paper, womens costumes, mens costumes, etc.
Most likely you won't win the contest if you go this route and you probably won't get or want your costume back.
Hey guys, no doubt we can get you all a ride to Thomaston from ATL, but getting back to the airport for the flight out on Sunday might be the chore. If you guys book a room at the Jameson, they won't complain about extra occupants. This should cut down some expense for you. You are more than welcome to crash in the loft and/or tandem packing area. We are going to try and have someone as a designated driver (possibly hired) to drive folks to the hotels late in the night after the party. Trey Skydive Atlanta

I love the Halloween Boogie, but I hate the bathroom/shower situation. If I camp, I might be able to come. I'm a girl though, and I like to clean up at the end of the day. You're my saviour!
We're fixing the shower situation so more than one lady can be in the bathroom at a time. Actually, when finished, one lady can be using the stall, one in the shower, and one at the sink. The shower stall will have a door with a lock mechanism. Please come!!!!!!!!!! Trey
I'm going to try to make it there. Since the storm a lot of my travels this summer have stopped but I can make it to Atlanta I believe. So many cool people I just recently met will be there. We're fixing the shower situation so more than one lady can be in the bathroom at a time.
That's cool. Last year I waited in a long line to use the bathroom before getting on a load. When the door finally opened, it was Danny Page walking out of the shower!

Now that Sprint and Nextel are one company, does anyone know if their cell phones work at the dz? I never could get my Nextel to work there, I'm hoping there are Sprint towers nearby.

i didnt make any jumps last year, i was too busy making sure peeps got checked in, and knew the landing area and pattern they were sopposed to fly, and making sure there gear was good..
looks like mike gruwell from chuting star rigging loft will be on hand for everyone this year if you need any rigging work done.

hmm. I bought tickets on united a mth ago for under 200$. Now they seem to be between 260-300, so not as drastic of a difference as you may be finding. I would suggest air-tran or another airline. I'm not sure how delta's prices are since they said they were declaring bankruptancy.
My problem is that I am not near a major airport. Philly is 3 hours and is the cheapest at around $300, but factor in about $60 for gas (maybe more after Rita) and $40 for parking, and probably $80 for a hotel since I would have to leave early in the morning to fit my schedule, otherwise I would be leaving my house at like 2 am to drive 3 hours, and you are right back to near $500.
Well.. lucky you.. you happen to have a friend (see avatar) with a lot of frequent flier miles who is in need of some serious freefly coaching. Lemme see if i can find you something.

The Jameson Inn has said that they will not charge for extra occupants in their rooms. That means as long as we don't take advantage (10 or 15 people in 1 room), folks can save quite a bit. I would say 6 or 8 in a double room would be reasonable. This also means we have to play nicely at their hotel and not destroy it.

airtran is like $250... out of dayton.... so NO, because gas to get tehre plus parking would equal what all the other airlines are charging, which is about $350 for everywhere i have checked.

For all looking for cheap airfare into atl. Airtran runs special days that are really cheap. You need to see if they fly near you. I flew round trip for like 156.87 tax included. Its neat because they give you crackers and everything.

With most hotels, you can get a full refund if you cancel 2-3 days in advance. If the Jameson has the same policy, maybe you should go ahead and book your room since the hotels are going to fill up and cancel near the end if you still can't get anyone to share the room with you.
