Unless I work some magic between now and Christmas there is a fairly good chance that my next jump won't happen until that boogie, and I've already arranged for the time off of my new position, so I'm anxiously waiting!
Just posted some info about the St. Patrick Boogie at RoamingDZ.com in the forums.More to come later.
Oh man, did I hear right Chris? Casa,Balloon, Helo and Caravan confirmed already. I also heard you were going for the GA. state record with an 80 way. Sounds like another killer boogie brewing in Georgia. You can me in again this year
For those who didn't attend last year, all I can say is Dublin provided the spectators that we rarely see in skydiving. The town was incredibly hospitable, there were plenty of places to sleep and eat, and the weather (minus a bit of wind) was incredible for March.
This Boogie is Roaming DZ's premiere boogie of the year as far as I'm concerned.
I already put in for thurs and fri off work. Of course, according to Lee, I have to quit my job this Friday.. its getting in the way of my skydiving.
I have too Kitty! This party is gonna start St. Patricks Day in Dublin, GA, where the shamrocks are rampant! And the green beer is optional!!! Do I hear a riverstreet style party in Dublin w/ skydivers and spectators gathering by the masses??? WooLilyHoo!!!
sure then clouds may come in and you'll stay at home all week-end. Heard it all before. You and dan should get together and play scrabble on those( wow cloud week-ends) hehe
Let us know if there are any boogie deals on hotels. I stayed at the Jameson last year and it was fine. Of course, I sleep in the backseat of my truck most of the time and thats fine too..
You said that last time...and look what happened!!
Let's just say I'm not counting on y'all for anything!!!
oh, and tell Rick he can DEFINATELY do some sunset aerobatics at this airport!! Tell him we'll have some beer waiting fer him on the ground when he lands!!
Hey, I just quit my job, well turned in my notice anyway. Next Friday is my last day.
Also, I just flew over Dublin on Monday. I was on my way back from Naples by way of Miami and I thought we were getting close to ATL so I look out the window and see the Dublin airport. I saw it at a distance and had no clue what airport it was. Then as I got closer I saw it better and started to recognize the area. Then I sat there remembering this past boogie, that was a such blast. I cannot wait for the next one.
I just booked the second Casa today for the boogie. The Ga. State Record Attempts are on.Anyone interested in doing 80 ways in Dublin contact myself at Chris@RoamingDZ.com or Guy Wright at Blskyguy@ aol.com.We will also be doing smaller ways for those not ready for the 80's.
well I guess Lee and I can cancel the honeymoon in feb so that I can take the time off........oh well we can schedule for another date......it sounds like it will be worth it
We will also be doing smaller ways for those not ready for the 80's.You forgot to mention that the "smaller ways" will start in Statesboro this weekend

And this years dropzone lurker award goes to....................christy......She pops up like a boner in the morning. Your worse than me. He hijack!! Are you at the Farm this week-end? hehe

I started a Thread at RoamingDZ.com about the Charity Poker Tournament that we are planning. Go Here to check it out.
Basically we are planning a 30 person No Limit Texas Holdem Tournament. All Entry Fees will be donated to a Local Charity and we hope to have some great Prizes for the top 3 Finishers donated from gear dealers and/or manufacturers.
Please let me know if you are interested in: 1. Being a Dealer 2. Playing in the Tournament on Friday Night 3. Attending the Beginners and/or Intermediate Class on Thursday Night. 4. MOST IMPORTANTLY - If you are gear Dealer and/or Manufacturer who would like to donate any Prizes for the winners.
It is all for a good cause (even though I don’t know which cause yet, I am sure Spence will pick a worthy Charity)
WOW the man that never returns phone calls. I see how you are. just because i am an outcast!!!!! Hey are you showing up for the Dublin boogie fortson? Are 80-ways out of your league now you do 120 ways?? hehe hey nopbby give me a call.
Hey Lee maybe Dublin would be a good time for the official coming out of the ORFUNS.I'm going to box you for #2
Oh Lord! Please dont give him the idea that hes in charge! Hes already got a god complex about the whole thing. But at the rate that were going it probably will take us another 3 damn months to get the thing going. Meanwhile we'll just let all the poor deluded souls keep assigning themselves their own numbers. Then we'll take them away and give you the real ones. BTW boxing is too violent, lets make it an electric 1 way contest.

My cooler always has Shiner Bock and Coronas cuz thats what me and my boyz pyke and bobster like. And sugar free red bull for the ogre. Plus a decent assortment of liquor. Remember the buttery nipples?? You think buttery nipples grow on trees???
Yes id did. where do they grow? I like the red bulls..much appreciated. For that we will schedule a boogie around you Kristi. Just bring as much red bull as i can drink.. Can we discuss red bull. Some lurkers don't like it when you don't talk about skydiving. If you mention cards or partying they start a whiney thread....

{I really dont know. But I think they grow in cold climates ....like regular nipples.} Skydiving is cool. {Shiner Bock'll do} I really like skydiving. {but you can keep the Corona. Haven't you heard the rumor about that stuff?} You should NEVER drink if you plan on skydiving.
There. The perfect post. All about skydiving instead of partying.

Forget getting a sitter. Bring 'em along and we'll all watch them in Dublin. I mean, you might even make some money (or at least some ) offering llama rides around the bonfire!
Maybe we could even have the goats race the Orfuns.
Damn you, you Ogre and your intolerance! There's nothing weird about a couple who skydive together and live with a large collection of exotic animahhhh.....................
*ahem* Uhh nevermind. What was I saying? Oh yeah. F*ck the zoo, they wont pay. Just take the whole truckload to a Chinese restaurant. Boom! Jump $$$.
Speaking of $$$$, who wants to kick in on a keg (or two) of Guiness? Green beer is for frat dicks and rednecks.
Happy Snake Chaser Day!
P.S. Spence, I'm famous in ways I cant even discuss with someone your age.

You have a new jumpsuit yet?No down winds for you.hope your jumping again.
Windblades......Spence, remember to bring LOTS of big, obvious windblades.
Just wanted to wish everyone MERRY CHRISTMAS (or whatever your people do) before I lose the wireless connection I'm piggybacking on here. Just can't get good computer at Mom's house. Meanwhile I'm stuck between 24 hours of Its A Wonderful Life and 24 hours of A Christmas Story.
Why can't they be politically correct and run 24 hours of the Godfather on Columbus Day?
Or I could watch ROCKY on Univision (that's one of Comcast Miami's' 273 Spanish channels). No sh*t. ROCKY in Spanish. "Mickey, no puedo ver. Corta me Mickey corta me! Adriana, Oye Adriana! Ya lo hizo!" O.K. so it'd be better if you could hear the Cuban actor doing the Stallone impression. And if I was drunk.
Anybody want to bet me I can't find a beer store open in Coconut Grove on Jesus' birthday? (It's a sucker bet, in Miami every day is someone named Jesus' birthday.) Wouldn't it be ironic if the guy working at the beer store was named Jesus? ...And if it was his birthday?!
Yes, before you ask. These are the things I think about when I'm left alone to entertain myself.
Oh Cool! Gotta go, the Royal Tennenbaums is on.
Oh, did I go off topic a little? First time for everything. Dublin Boogie, keg of Guiness. Who's in?

Well we were all proud to be a part of it so that's really unnecessary. But I wont stop you. I've given my vote now all I need is a few REAL BEER DRINKIN' MEN to back me up so we dont end up drinking some kind of tired ass NASCAR foam or Estro-Beer. I have to believe that all of us hoisting frothy mugs of real Irish stout is only the way St. Patrick wouldve wanted it. ....Whoever the hell he was.

dude, with the beer you brought to my house you have the respect of the choice of beer. this sucks its 26th dece, ber and the clouds have just broken. Oh well i guess i will have to jump more tomorrow!!!
Well, Cindy said Tony Suits had the technology and could fix it. So, I'm hoping that it has actually made it there by now and is in the process of being repaired. I sent my helmet to Unfeathered last week and am waiting for its return. As yet I haven't jumped. By the time all my stuff gets back I will definitely be ready to get in the air. Defintely, NO DOWNWINDS!!!!
downwinds are fun my friend, just not at 20-30 mph gusts. But hey, next time you plan on doing one let me know, video sells!!!!! Seriosly, come up to the farm and i'll do a few re-currency with ya. Won't even charge ya..lol

That's my guurrrlll!!!!! You know yo' 'daddies' love ya fer it, too!! And we DO put the FUN in dysfunctional - don't we, kiddo?
And I had no idea where buttery nipples grew...
...I thought it was on your HUGE BOOOOOBIES!!!!!!(bloody things better be good for something - right??)
they speak for themselves, no need to draw attention..
Oh.....they always speak to me.......
Damn. I'm jealous. They NEVER speak directly to me. All they do is tell me the temperature and wind direction.
**PING!!**PING!!**
Edited to add: Oh yeah, now for the other most important thing in life. We have 2 votes for Guiness and 1 vote for that pseudo-beer that Kitty likes. Any other votes for the keg? Come on, America. This isnt like that hopeless clusterf*ck election we had in November. This is important!
GUINESS IS GOOD FOR YOU.
(This post was edited by RastaRicanAir on Jan 2, 2005, 5:57 PM)
Dude.. guiness... yuck. Drinking a pint of guiness is like eating a loaf of bread. [/reply
And drinking Corona is like drinking something a Mexican dude already drank. I've heard the reason they cant serve that stuff in kegs is because the guys at the brewery cant fit their wee-wees in that little tap. Just stick to your cooler, baby, and let the big dogs eat their bread.
BTW: Did I mention? It's an IRISH F*CKING HOLIDAY!!!

SAV is about 2 hours away as is ATL. MCN is closer but may be way more expensive. If you know someone with a plane just have them drop you off overhead. Dublin is an open airport with fuel so they'll hook you up if need be.
I will reiterate the "sooner is better" comment. There is no 30-amp power on the airport and the 10-amp recepticles you can plug into are on weak breakers, so don't even think about running your AC. I am bringing my 5k generator just in case it gets really hot and I want clean power.
They have us park RV's over beside the T-hangars, but you cannot block the doors. There are a few water spigots alongside the building, but bringing a splitter would be a smart idea if you are not one of the first to arrive and want water.
God knows what i am bringing. I'm looking for a good RV to buy before then. I figured with all the travelling it will pay for itself in no time..So where is the cheapest place to buy a tow behind. Something like spences will do. Not a 5th wheel.

If you bring a 10gage wire.Everyone with a camper should have one.I will pick up some breakers that we can add to the boxes.Remind me and I will do a seminar on RV survival 101.
Best survival is buy one with locks and no extra space so mooching bastards won't crash there for a week..Wait..never mind. I need one with just enough room for me and the misses and maybe a dog..lol And that's not you robbie!!

You would not fucking believe how cheap used, and I mean barely used, campers cost. Go by any large RV place and ask to look at their trade-ins. My 30-footer is a 1999 model and I bought it two years ago for seven thousand dollars. There is a guy at my DZ that paid eleven grand for a FOURTY footer (tow behind) with a big slide-out; it was three or four years old. Once again, you can find fantastic deals on trade-ins at big RV places. It's better in my opinion to buy from places like that because they are going to at least make sure everything in the unit works.

I'd respond, but youre not worth wasting a F*CK YOU! on. Why dont you just get off a wad of that mattress money and put a down payment on a luxury tour bus tight ass? Look around. If it werent for mooching bastards you wouldnt have any friends at all!
And now the weekend forecast: I know we were expecting blue skies and mild breezes, but now it looks like a strong desperation front is moving in from the Northern Georgia area, and we may see some powerful begging by nightfall. Hopefully this patheticness will blow over in time for us to actually make soime jumps. Now back to the news.

I think we all need name tags for the boogie.Maybe I could get one of those booths that engrave plastic tags.
...I really must make an effort to get Chris to formally introduce all you clowns. I was at the Halloween Boogie but I didn't make the DZ.com connections.
Well here's one way to get who's who...
CSpenceFLY- Santa without the beard BlueSkySerenity - the Vogue-model should-have-been RastaRicanAir - Mutt to Marianne's Jeff Shrek - bowling ball with legs Bobster - the Marine wearing one shoe (elevated) Mouth - just listen out BrandiH - when your socks drop, you know you've seen her. AnnieMae - when "Southern Belle" comes to mind, you found her. FreeFlyinNicky - when your mouth goes slack, that's Nicky
I just reserved a slot for the hot air balloon through paypal. Chris has the info on the website and I think the balloon holds 10 people. It'll be my first balloon jump so I think I'll go Birdman. If your gonna go you gotta go BIG. Someone tell the paramedics I have A+ blood type.
Uhhhhh......Friday? Talk to Pyke I have to go with him cause he's filming me. If I don't go with him he will get his feelings hurt and he won't talk to me all weekend.

All in good fun, guys...all in good funWink
Y'know, if there were anybody else still living who remembered Mutt & Jeff I might be a little offended by that remark.
And, since I dont want people confusing my good close friend Shrek with some other large individual, I should add: he's the "Bowling Ball" who smells of anchovies and Cool Whip.

Ooohhhh, there it is, the long knives are already comin' out! Remember, my little Benny Hill Stunt Double, the FUN in OrFUN stands for: F*CK those with Unauthorized Numbers! ...Oops! My mistake, it actually stands for FUN. Nonetheless, you have a point. Which is why all of us who show up will be working on the OFFICIAL OrFun Roster, Numbers and Rules Charter at your housewarming party, in preparation for our Inauguration at the Dublin Boogie. Yeah, I know I've said that before but this WILL BE IT. Even if I have to jump alone and initiate myself.
Rule #3: No OrFun is more important than any other OrFun, though some do smell stronger than others. -Your Sgt. at Arms, V
As for Downsize Mike, I have to say it's really really SAD. ...That everyone who picked on me is now trying to be like me that is. Once again, I don't follow the trend, I AM the trend. Seriously, though I think it's about time that the Vice Squad looked into that little operation that Huggy Bear Hans is running up there. To paraphrase Ice-T: Pimpin' ain't easy, but it ain't legal either.

It was self-appointed....and I already checked with OrFUN #1 and he cleared it. So get over it!! Hell - this is the only time I'm going to get to pick a number in my skydiving career...so I picked it...after all, there were no more than 5 of you from Tally comin' up when we the numbers were discussed...and I figured I was in the ballpark...so I just put it down on paper first. So, if Robbie would kindly oblige me...that would be great.

And drinking Corona is like drinking something a Mexican dude already drank. I've heard the reason they cant serve that stuff in kegs is because the guys at the brewery cant fit their wee-wees in that little tap. Just stick to your cooler, baby, and let the big dogs eat their bread.

But that's what she wanted in the first place. Getting a keg of her favorite beer instead of what I want? Sounds like you learned the word compromise from a woman!
Screw it. As stouts go, Guinness is pretty lame anyway. I'll just blow my packing money on my very own keg of Murphy's. Then I'll charge all the other beer snobs and foreigners $5 a cup. -If you read it on a guy's jumpsuit at NASCAR, it ain't beer.
P.S. How many people can jump out of the balloon at one time? Which load are me and Mariposa on? And, is there a camera guy on that load? I'm thinking we should go for the cover of Parachutist.

Dude.. guiness... yuck. Drinking a pint of guiness is like eating a loaf of bread.
In reply to:
And drinking Corona is like drinking something a Mexican dude already drank. I've heard the reason they cant serve that stuff in kegs is because the guys at the brewery cant fit their wee-wees in that little tap.
BTW: Did I mention? It's an IRISH F*CKING HOLIDAY!!!
In reply to:
Well - compromise and get some real beer - Shiner - Baby!
Ahright. F*ck this noise! I've put an end to the beer bitching once and for all. If you need me, I'll be sitting next to a 5 gallon keg of Handcrafted Irish Red Ale made with pride right here at LocoBoca Breweries . With the hose inserted straight down my gullet like I'm on Irish life support. Home Brew baby! Ask nice maybe I'll sell ya a glass.

You know, of all my skydiving friends I've made for all these years, it just seems like these "farm hands" that I've gotten (maybe too) close to over the last few months have WAY TOO MUCH TIME ON THEIR HANDS! These threads go on, and on, and on, ...
Now, do something important. Get yourself a (insert canopy brand name here) and SHUT UP AND JUMP !!!
PS Back to the theme of the thread, can't wait to get back in the air on some good ole' RW big way dives at the Dublin Boogie. Talked to a good buddy in CA who's gonna make the XC trip, so looks like this is THE EVENT for skydiving for St. Paddy's Day. B there or B square.
Can you believe that people are traveling from all over the country for this thing. This is going to be a blast.
Look how excited Bubbles is getting . It's just so damned cute! O.K. on topic for this one: Dublin Dublin Dublin Skydive Skydive Boogie Jumping Beer Sweater Cakes ....sh*t. Yep, that's about as long as I can stay on topic. You were right Beez. But my long term memory is rockin.' (EX: There are two people coming to this boogie who still owe me jumps.) And this time I'll have plenty of time to collect before you can sneak out on Sunday morning. And if you want me to jump one of those canopies of yours, bring one in my size for a change.
Also, if no one else is doing it, I'll volunteer to write an article on the few facts I'm going to remember and send it to Parachutist. So if anybody wants to get famous, remember to do something stupid.

well you are preatty good at winning bets. and well i dont think robbie can shut up either..... i hate betting also..... shit.... i want to match ya, but as soon as i do i will loose. hmmmmm very tempting tho..
I didn't realize the back flying expertise of Team B-Squared was already known so far away. See Bobster - be the only ones to compete in a discipline...and you get famous quickly!! That's what trend-setting is all about!!!
Anyone interested in jumping the big way formation loads needs to register with Chris or at http://www.texasstaterecord.com. Click on "Application Form" and after completing the form, select the boogie. This will help Guy Wright and the other organizers plan the big way jumps.
I’ve just talked to Robby and since he’s not stupid enough to lose the whole bet by posting that he accepts the bet, he says he’ll accept on these conditions:
1) The Not Posting bet and the Not Being Belligerent bet are TWO SEPARATE BETS, and one does not affect the other. 2) Both bets are off as of sunset Thursday March 17th, 2005, and 3) The decision on whether he's being belligerent must be made by a two-thirds majority of the people in the room (or hangar) at the time, and not just by Shrek. Agree to those terms and YOU’RE ON!
One more thing, since he won’t be able to defend himself: NO PERSONAL ATTACKS OR PROVOCATION ON THE THREADS. (Light picking-on is allowed ONLY if you’ve got the cohones to put up a matching stake)
And two questions: -Does this mean full altitude plane loads only, or are chopper jumps eligible? -And, does this mean the entire site or only this thread?
