The ORFUNS wil be there in force just wanted to see who else is planning on attending. I hear there will be 3 planes for one price and a helocopter. for a reall Does anyone have any more info on this event??
This is going to be @ Skydive the Farm In Cedartown Georgia. The hanger is Heated and will serve as a big ass bunk house.

hey its $165 all you can jump your ass off lets get the list going. you all have over a month of planning so lets all be there. That time of year up there is awesome perfect jump weather. Greg get a pond swoop competition going. But you know us lot will be there, be bloody rude not too.lol so the date of the boogie is 20/21 all get there friday night and we'll throw a bonfire party. Also The Boogie is Saterday and Sunday Nov 20 21 and we can get 15$ jumps on Friday 19 Nov. there is also some kind of tandem deal. Check out their web site next week for all the Info.

well I spoke with Orfun 3 and she said that she is working on getting her profile started..........but would like to thank Orfun number 5 (um yes I said Orfun 5, who Orfun 3 out ranks...........) for moving the event for later on. It will be more fun anyways because there wil be more people at the MO FO Boogie anyway. It would be more personal anyway.

Damn, look at this. I space out for a few days and ya'll go and make 50 posts. Well I don't know about all these orfucs or whatever they are but I'm going to be there to A) jump my ars off or B) pack/edit tandem videos or C) pass out next to the pond and wonder what happened to the weekend.
Why is it that I love jumping at the farm? Because just when I think there might be some drama I see some random redneck floating on the pond past out on an air mattress. Oh yeah not to mention the Otter....The Caravan.... The Porter and that cute lil 185.

Silly ogre.. the plane is in TN on weekends, not during the week. And I have the weekend off, but not real excited about working Friday morning, driving from Terre Haute to Nashville and then to The farm, only to drive back to Nashville Sunday and back to Terre Haute Monday morning.
Besides, they miss me in Tullahoma..
But I may not be in Terre Haute so we'll see. You get to see me this weekend, dont worry..

No he has a rig. Well I hope you all had fun at the Farm this weekend. I took a tandem to Lake Wales, and I will tell when we drove up to where I thought the main hanger was......there was nothing there! That was a very weird sight to see. They are working out of trailers, and the packing area is outside. Damn It feels weird to see Lake Wales like that. But everyone there was in good spirits and it was still very fun to jump there. They went through alot, and I can't wait to go there during christmas. See you all at the Halloween boogiein Thomaston!

Well after this past week-end, can we outdo ourselves at the mofo. I know i will give it a good try. is everyone planning their vacation around this boogie. I'll be up there Friday doing a crap load of hop and pops. Anyone got any ideas to make this boogie better besides a turkey roast saturday...lol get the ovens burning!!! Congrats go out to new Birdman flyers Bob and Kelly, who really performed well on their initial wingsuit flights. Special thanks go out to Blaine for teaching the Birdman first jump course to Bob and Kelly, and for supervising Bob's first flight. All of these factory new GTI suits the new birds are jumping make my Skyflier 1 look like it came from the student equipment rack in Quincy.
Honorable mention goes out to new AFF student Pruitt for passing level 1 and 2 in the same day, but the extra 2.5 hour drive that Kelly and I took to take you home Sunday shall be duly noted when it comes time for your coaching jumps, and don't be suprised when you find yourself in the Cessna a few weeks from now doing the required clear-and-pulls from 2,000 and 1,000 feet respectively.
In all honesty though, THANK YOU to the entire staff and friends of the Farm for another great weekend. Thanks Ryan for returning my wingsuit intact, and once again Bob and Blaine did a great job with some of the ground training and i'm sure will continue to do the same at their USPA Coach course in a few weeks. Thanks also to Instructors Hans, Kerry, and Chris for the advice and coaching I recieved throughout the weekend, and to the rest of the skydivers for some awesome jumps.
As for the rain, it did feel unusually good for some reason, as did pretty much everything else on Saturday night. I can't quite put my finger on what it was, but outside of the weather and a few bad spots, this whole weekend felt unusually good. Perhaps the long drive to the Farm is getting to be more than worth it? Does this mean I will be coming up to the MOFO boogie if im invited?

I have to agree w/ Brian. Everything did feel good on Sat. night. This farm crew is quite entertaining. And the more we get to know one another...let's just say...the comfort zone is drawing near. The rain was an added bonus. You could actually see the bottom of the rain drops w/ the strobe light.

As for the rain, it did feel unusually good for some reason, as did pretty much everything else on Saturday night. I can't quite put my finger on what it was, but outside of the weather and a few bad spots, this whole weekend felt unusually good..

I also hear that "downsize" Mike and "quaddro" Kelly are teaching an advanced canopy piloting course at the MOFO boogie coming up in November. Rumor has it that there may be even be a very special guest appearance by Tom Lundergan from Sky Frog Productions on how to avoid mid air collisions while freeflying. This would be a great opportunity for some of the new skydivers to get some coaching on how to fly the more high performance canopies as well as to learn when the right time to downsize is. I benefited from some of this training about a year ago and it made me realize that I was "held back" on a Sabre 190 when in all reality I should have "graduated" to my old Jedei 136 about 50 jumps before. These canopy coaching courses really can open your eyes to what you have been missing out on in the past.

Not really sure. Depends on the weather and how many people are there to jump. It will probably be a little on the slow side because so many people will already be in Thomaston.
I hope to head out between 4 and 5pm or so. If the weather is bad than I would leave even earlier.

I've been wanting to do a helo jump since I started!!! I keep up the pace I'm on right now, I might get my 100th jump that weekend. It'd be great to do a naked big way from a helicopter to remember that one.

I thought that Illinois was out west. I was probably too busy thinking about skydiving to pay attention in school. Anyways they help bring home the bacon and great openings are just an added plus. Well there had been talk of LocoBoca Productions setting up but it's not official yet. I think we'll have to put in a bid to the management. Who knows? Hmmm.......well, yeah fireworks are illegal in Georgia, and I really don't wanna spoil it for all of the jumpers there if we had a run in with the law during the boogie, so I guess the show is gonna have to wait until I go through all of the trouble to apply for a GA shooters license and the local approval for the site, which im gonna have to talk to the landowner about. It looks like we are gonna have to hope for the lasers for visual effects, although tossing 6 ounce blocks of sodium metal into the swoop pond sometimes can be just as much fun.

A little update on the HUGE Poker Tournament planned for Saturday Night at the SUPER MO FO Boogie..
BIG NEWS!! I just got some really cool Trophies that will be also awarded to top 3 finishers.
For those who want to learn, I will do a couple of short poker classes through out the day. One for first timers who want to learn how to play and the basics of the game and then later an Intermediate class covering theory and basic strategy.
Tournament will be limited to the first 28 People to hand me their entry fees. I will start taking sign ups early. We can hopefully get the tournament started at 8:00pm to give everyone time to eat after the sunset load.
If there is enough interest, we will also do a Calcutta at 7:30pm. A Calcutta is a great way for people who are not playing to also get involved in the game. The way it works is we randomly group players in teams of 3 or4 and auction them off. If someone from a team you buy wins the tournament, you get all the money from all the bids. This is open to everyone to bid on their favorite player.
Ohh, And I will have TONS of Jello shots for everyone too.

All,
Boboso had surgery this morning to put a plate on his fibula and re-align it with his tibula.
I will keep you all posted, but he will be held overnight tonight for general observation, and released tomorrow morning/afternoon.
I'll be paying him a visit this Friday night, so I'll take pictures of the gore, and fill you all in on his progress.
He has no choice but to be at the MoFo Boogie, and he knows it. I've relegated him to puppy duty, and that should help him maintain a constant bevy of female well-wishers (for him) and cooers (for Kaha).
He may not stay the weekend, so be sure to pay him a visit when you can.
I'll fill you all in later.
Also, if you know Ganja Rodriguez - send him a well wish too. Apparently he messed himself up pretty bad (non-skydiving related), and needs plenty of support.

Brit - I think you have Bob and I confused!! While I'm sure Bob would love to be credited with 400+ jumps - he has a modest 280ish!! He has also downsized from a Sabre 2 170 to a Sabre 2 150 within a hundred jumps - MUCH to the chagrin of his rigger and good friend.
He proved he could land his canopy safely well enough, but sometimes well enough will bite you in the ass...TRUST ME I have the scars to prove it.
All - I don't care how you downsize, and what you downsize - smaller canopies mean faster approaches. Whether you go from a Raven 180 square to a Heatwave 150 full elliptical (and break your femur) or you go from a Sabre 2 170 to a Sabre 2 150 (and just break your fibula) - a DOWNSIZE IS A DOWNSIZE!! Take them SLOW!!
Take it easy out there - PLEASE!! Recognize that people who jump smaller canopies got them after HUNDREDS of jumps on their previous canopies.
Until you can land your canopy in all conditions and in all areasDON'T DOWNSIZE YET.
How will you know when that time is...when you have to land off dz in a front yard next to power lines and trees AND WALK AWAY!! Then, and only then, should you THINK about it.

ok sorry, i thought he had more jumps. Then it just backs up the case. Don't downsize to quickly. You guys know who we are on about as brian said. We really don't won't you getting hurt. If we did we would encourage you to downsize..lol Its all cool till someone loses a tibula..hehe. Maybe at the MOFO we could get a coach course sunday morning. All get up bloody early and have Hans or Dave do maybe a seminar. Just a thought. Then again. i plan on staying up in the jacuzzi..nudge nudge. The point to my post was that it is going to suck if it rains all weekend because we wouldnt get to jump but if we dont then hey that leaves more time for drinking and hold em so whatever happens i know that itl still be the best boogie to date

Soooo depending on whether or not I'll be working next weekend, I was thinking about coming up there and hanging out. I can't jump because the leg's not strong enough yet, but I wanna get to know some of the Farm people. When I get back to jumping, I wanna start jumping at different DZs and it seems the Farm has some great people.

EDIT: What we SHOULD be concerned with is who's providing the TV and necessary hookup so we can watch the FSU/UF GAME? Just because we of the Tally community are remaining faithful to our chosen sport (partying in big open fields with airplanes around us) doesn't mean we can totally forget our roots. So who's got a nice big flat screen job and a satellite dish we can set up?

Well Sage, sadly I'll be keeping you company (along w/ Bob and Sheenster I presume) in that bad ankle corner.
The brief synopsis is landed off in tall grass and rather than plf (like I was telling myself in my head to do) I tried sliding, caught my foot and landed w/ all my weight on my ankle. Oh, and thankfully there was a real nice briar patch right there to break my fall. I'm still picking the damn things out.
Right as I landed (about 10 to 15 feet from a fence) I popped back up to try and back up to make sure the canopy didn't get near said fence only to have the canopy inflate and pull me off balance and right back into the briars and the canopy to the fence. Somewhere right about the time I was standing back up is where I realize how damn much my ankle hurt.
Thanks to Pruitt, Nic, Woody, Hans and Frank for helping get me and the gear picked up and back to the dz.
Thankfully just a sprain. The doctor's words were actually "I've never seen someone pull and twist an ankle in so many directions from falling off a ladder before!"
There was some good news about the jump though. It was my pre-second jump on my own pack job, the last skill I had left to check off on my A-card. Thanks to Kevin and Liam for their help in finally getting a clue w/ packing.

I have 2 1/2 questions for Hans: 1. Is the helicopter included in the all you can jump? If not what is the price for jump tickets? (I would really like to do one but I am on a budget)
2. Is the bath house build yet?
Also, if any Rodriguez brothers would like to help me talk the SC peeps into coming then get on the message board (the Rodriguez Brothers one that is) and start talking up the boogie. Its hard to get them to come when I am the only one talking about it.
