it is supposed to be raining most of the weekend here in NC.
hmmm that sounds alot like "We will be doing alot of drinking this weekend here in NC."
If it's raining in NC, head on up to Skydive the Point for Carol Clay's Birthday Boogie! Unless there's a big change in Frances, we shouldn't have too much rain. See details on the thread I started in this forum about the boogie, or at http://www.skydivethepoint.com. It's really not too far a drive, and we have plenty of room to spend the night.
I'll be there friday-monday. We're hoping to get all the FF'ers out there on fridays from now on to do some bigger freefly stuff. I haven't seen you in a wihle Joe, since you left a couple of new FF'ers have been frequenting CSS (Marion Graberic-Matthews, & Kevin, John, and Ellis from GE).
As of right now (wednesday @ noon) the forecast is good for Fri, and 30-40% chance precip over the weekend. Keep your fingers crossed
I'll see you there buddy!!!!!!!!!!!!!! make sure you don't betrayed us now and go and do some RW( I know Kevin , myself and Mariann are going to be there friday) see ya
I'll be there friday thru monday. Have too cook one of my female friends dinner on friday but will be back sat sun and monday as well. FF for sure ya'll.

How's your sit going Eric? And...of course we will be drinking. Cmon!!!

Both CSS and Raeford have big weekends. Here's the plan.... Saturday AM, everyone at both DZs face SSE and blow hard! I know that there is enough hot air (myself included) between us to keep Francis out of NC until the middle of next week! karen
Friday's are good for me too. I need to reline my Velo. Hopefully I'll have that done and be there a week from Friday! Assuming there will be a group. When did Marion get back?
Fridays are very good. Hopefully this whole "Freefly Friday" thing will take off, so far so good. Marion just came back to CSS a few weeks ago and has been jumping her ass off. She's taught me a whole hell of alot about freeflying in the past month.
This weekend at CSS was really awesome. The CRW camp with Frank Fowler was very successful and a couple of younger jumpers got their 4 stack awards. Sparky, Scotty, and Don Carrington arranged some big-way jumps, and we ended the weekend with a beautiful 18 way sunset tracking dive led by Peter B.
I'm in the process of cutting a quick video from the clips i collected this weekend, hopefully it'll be done by friday, which is when my new Vengence should be here
hey all, I cut togeth er a little 2 minute video from the weekend. I tried to upload it to skydivingmovies.com so i could post a clicky here, but it doesn't like the Mac version of explorer. If somebody with a PC can upload it for me, i'll email it to you (~5mb). Let me know!
hahahahahahah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm just giving you crap but seriously don't be late hahahahaha, are we having beers after? everyone let me know so I don't buy too much
I'm guessing this is Laura (skyminxx). In any case it sure was a pleasure meeting all of you fox force 4s...Hope to see and jump with you guys again. --The Mascot
Nope... Try again I was sitting opposite Laura, does that help
^Thanks Joe! I appreciate it... Damn Mac's. Ohh, and I hope that you slowed down a little now that you're not backsliding so much.
BTW Karen, Joe, Marion and everyone else who was on the Who-the-hell-sang- "Play that Funky Music White Boy"-Load, it was Wild Cherry. I dubbed the video to it just for you :)
Not kidding!!!!!!!!! I hate that song after last week we need to do something about the music, Brian are you going to freefly with us? or what!!!!!!!!!
Must be Porcia ?sp? Porsche? Anyways...it must be the brit if you are sitting opposite laura :)
Cheers Mate. Was very nice to meet you. I wish I could have gotten to know you guys more. I almost showed up at Mexican that sunday evening.
Next time.
CSSers. I'm in chitown this weekend so I can't make FreekFly Friday. :( Very sad. On commuter airlines this weekend folks. Hope to see you guys there next week sometime.
BBYE, joe

This will be a busy weekend at CSS with the Casl meet. Let's here it for Frankenotter!
Joe, We've got a 10 round meet this weekend. What will we do w/out you on our loads!
hummmm, Freefly Fridays .... After the 4way season is over I may just have to crossover for a while. It's great to see the freefly scene at CSS picking back up. Welcome to the GE guys and welcome back Marion!
see yall on Saturday, karen
oh, and Eric "....play that funky music till ya die..."
Joe, We've got a 10 round meet this weekend. What will we do w/out you on our loads!
I don't even know what to do myself. I'm afraid to jump now without the support of you Fox's + 1.
I guess I'll have to write you guys a chant to sing before you jump. :)
I wish I could be there jumping this weekend. Very Sad I had to miss another weekend. ANyone want to go to Eloy with me at the end of November? Looking for a jumping / tent partner to spend 2 weeks.
Hey joe It was a very busy weekend at CSS. There were ~12 4-way teams competing in 4,6, and 10 rounds, as well as the usual crew of fun jumpers. MUCH thanks to all the camera jumpers for their hard work!!! (This means you Scott, Karen, Steve, Todd, Robin, Heather, and others)
Congrads also to the newly crowned Pink Mafia girls, Marion, Dawn #3, and others!
Thanks to everyone for an awesome weekend! I can't wait for this friday! (*cough*partyatMarion's*cough*cough*)
Katie, I got you babe! and you have "the Hindenberg!" Have you had a chance to try it out? I haven't laughed that hard in a while. We missed you on Sunday. A new 4way team was forming from the remains of others. I think they were called, "What EZ Loose Slot!
See ya next weekend in Chester???? please??? karen
sweet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'll be there friday , don't care about the weather too much, if we jump is fine , if we don't we just get drunk ( in your trailer) hahahahahaha, and don't be late again
I may too !!!!!!!!!!!! but where is the library at????? I don't know how to get there, and Marion are you living at the DZ already? so much for jumpimg tomorrow , but I'll try to go Friday just to check your new home
I'll be at the DZ this afternoon, but late because I took a lot of time off yesterday. (Sorry Ellis.) Tonight will be my FIRST night in the trailer! Looks like good trailer weather: "Rain, becoming heavy at times with isolated tornadoes." At least I'll know right away whether there are any leaks.
Good deal! Eric Miller: emmiller@email.unc.edu Joseph Kwon: joekwon80@hotmail.com
Twas a busy sunday at CSS thanks to a sunny day (finally), and best of all, a CASA! I hope everyone had a wonderful day filled with awesome jumps. Big thanks to Joe, Kevin, Marion, and the new guy (i forgot your name, sorry) for the sunset 5 way horny gorilla/FF zoo jump :)
Has anybody heard anything new about Stu? Hopefully Karen will chime in with some good news. Blue skies, best wishes, and get well soon!!!!!
Highlight of my day was Marion's Superman. Marion missed aload in order for the winds to calm down so she wouldn't have a difficult landing and possibly hurt herself. So I get to the DZ and she's excited to show us her new trailer and we (karen, marion, pam and I) start walking towards it...then marion in her excitement picks up the pace and jogs then it turns into a race and marion starts running and you see her feet start to wobble after she trips over her foot...then...DUN DUN DUUUUUN!!!! SUUUPPPERRR MAAAAAAAN!!!!!!!!! I score her a 10. :)
here are mine !!!!!!!!!!!! skydiveelis@hotmail.com and - or - , elis.lopez@ae.ge.com , good to see you all on sunday, I'm sorry I had to go but I'll make it up to you crazy bastards
Eric Miller: emmiller@email.unc.edu Joseph Kwon: joekwon80@hotmail.com David Jennings: dajennin@cs.ncsu.edu Ellis Lopez: skydiveelis@hotmail.com/elis.lopez@ae.ge.com Marion Grabarek-Matthews: mariongm@hotmail.com
David- It was cool to get some jumps in with you yesterday. You don't match the gear color scheme, but you'll blend in just fine in the trailer! See you next weekend.
Joe- You have to admit that was just about the most graceful face plant in the mud you've ever seen. I finally cut my shoelaces shorter this morning!
A friend at work just gave me a little grill, so lets have a FF Friday cookout!
Glad to see you back, Marion. I missed you I think it's time I leaned that freaky shit so I might see ya out there as soon as this tendonitis gets better. I will, however, stay well clear of the trailer... it sounds dangerous
Eric Miller: emmiller@email.unc.edu Joseph Kwon: joekwon80@hotmail.com David Jennings: dajennin@cs.ncsu.edu Ellis Lopez: skydiveelis@hotmail.com/elis.lopez@ae.ge.com Marion Grabarek-Matthews: mariongm@hotmail.com BB: blball@unity.ncsu.edu

Marion- that face plant was awesome!!!! I give you a perfect 10!!
I'm still on student status (6 jumps to go!) but have been at CSS pretty much every weekend since July 4th. My name is Mike Winters, and I'm the skinny white guy who asks all the dumb questions :)
Mike Winters: MWGemini@planetunreal.com
Also- how late do you guys generally stay on weekends? I always leave before dark, but I hear thats when things start getting interesting....
-David- Apologies man... i'll remember your name from now on -Marion- I'm going to get one of Mike I.'s kids to chase you around with a video camera in anticipation of the next face plant. -BK #2 & #3- Commence freeflying... -Mike W- The real fun starts once the beer light is turned on! A decent number of us stay at the DZ on weekends, the rest go off to dinner in wake forrest, or to the front row (sports bar off capital). Just stick with us and you'll have some interesting times/learn some interesting stuff. I've learned volumes by hanging around sipping back bud light with some of the experienced jumpers like Rocky, Steve, & Nick.
Eric Miller: emmiller@email.unc.edu Joseph Kwon: joekwon80@hotmail.com David Jennings: dajennin@cs.ncsu.edu Ellis Lopez: skydiveelis@hotmail.com/elis.lopez@ae.ge.com Marion Grabarek-Matthews: mariongm@hotmail.com BB: blball@unity.ncsu.edu Dawn Stickle: dstickle@alumni.ufl.edu Mike Winters: MWGemini@planetunreal.com
And now on to the questions:
So beer light goes on after last load goes wheels up, right? (generally around dusk I am assuming). How late do you guys generally stay, where do you keep the beer during the day, and what is the preferred beer of choice (or should I bring variety?) I guess I could just get a cooler and keep it in the trunk with ice, but that may not keep them cold all day, and I've never seen anyone carrying cases into the place before, so.....
Since I get paid Friday, I'll probably end up bringing a few cases on Saturday and see what happens. Now I just have to figure out how to break away from my fiancee for the evening...
Beer light is usually *after* the last jumper is back on the ground and the planes are tied down. As far as what type to bring... bring what *you* drink. The sport-beer cooler is right around the corner from manifast.
Well, *I* don't drink, so that makes it a little more difficult. Maybe a case of beer and a case of coke or something? Still- how late do most people usually stay on Saturdays? When you say right around the corner, do you mean inside the manifest room, or towards the student gear room? Maybe I should just announce I have free beer Saturday morning and see who comes to my aid ;P
How late do they stay??? Much later than me. But a lot of jumpers spend the night. And now that Marion has that HOT new trailer looks like a LOT of us are going to be crashing her house.
Kinds of beer. Don't buy anything too expensive if you're not going to drink them. Anything gets drunk that you bring. Miller Light Bud Light. Any of those kinds of cheapos. I don't drink all too much myself and I don't stay the night so I will be drinking a diet coke with you if you bring some. :)
It's not the carbs I'm worried about. I just don't like the sweetness of coke and I eat so much $hit during the day I feel like I need to tone it down for my evening drinks.
:)
Oh..you can always bring liquour too...People will drink that. :)
No 3 got demoted to No 4, leaving a vacancy in the No 3 slot. Its the first time in the history of the BKs that this has ever happened. Looks like we are looking for a new No 3... (haha)
looks like a LOT of us are going to be crashing her house.
Dude. Please don't crash my new trailer.
I'll be out there sometime during the week with black and white fake fur and a staple gun. Probably Thursday.
Eric- if I paint the trailer like Optimus Prime, do you think I could make the electric slideout part of the transforming mechanism?
Black Knights- y'all should check out David's gear. All black and white. Maybe he could grab the #3 slot? (I've already been denied membership because I'm too colorful.)
i really like your trailer margret if anyone trashes it let me know and ill help you get sweet revenge on them . And if anyone wants my kids to chase anyone it will coast you a jump but they are for hier.
and i also hope i do this right casue its the first time i done it
if anyone care the dodge ball team made the nbc channel 17 news at 11 pm last night were 1 game lost and 2 games won and DJ was the big MVP of the game only cause he was the one they showed on TV last night
i might try to come out tomarow but i have to empty a storage unit first and i really dont know how long it will take me so if i get done early i might be there for a sunset load, but for right now im not going to count on it even though i know that you guys will miss me very much
hey milinda you should have a contest for color schems for your trailer i think we should paint it like a giant zipper and the slide out can be the you know what that would be really funny

You're a trip man...and you're right...I'm impressed myself when I see a picture with my WHOLE head in it. :)
Hey So today was a MOST amazing day at CSS. I showed up around 220 and got 4 jumps in by the end of the day.
CRAZY nice day for jumping...Anyways, I'm gonna be there tomorrow as well if any of you are willing to show up on a thursday. And if all goes well I'll be doing my Jump 100 on Friday with all you free fly friday buds...Help me think of something cool to do.
I'd love to get all you FFers out the door with me to do a pretty large way.
Anyways, it will be great to see you all again soon.
JOE...

hey joe you cant give youself that much credit if you look at the very top part of the picture there is still a little of your head that is cut out and its beacause you didnt use Akos fish eye lens for the shot LMAO but im sure someday they will make a lens big enough for event your head
hey congratulations on getting to your 100 jump thats really cool i hope i get to do the pie thing on you with everone else maybe i can make it out my last job is at 2 so you never know but if i dont make it out i really hope you have a great jump
Just got back from work, and I picked up a case of bud light and a case of corona light for Saturday. I also have a case of generic soda (sorry Joe, no diet). Think that'll be enough for Saturday's crowd? Also- does the gas station at the corner of 56 and 1A sell ice?
GREAT Friday and weekend at CSS!!! Freeflyers thanks for a great 100th...and when I thought I avoided the pieing Sunday Evening as I'm about to leave I get hit....bad too...thanks for keeping the flavours nice and civil.
Great jumps the whole weekend...thanks CSS Freeflyers...

PS: For all of you locals interested we're playing at Top of The Hill on Thursday. It's a free show so come bring the skydiver love.
My left ear is still ringing from the demo jump into that concert yesterday. It's too bad there weren't many people around Saturday night. Two cases of beer and a case of soda and 5 of us to drink it.
Dude It was a great Pleasure to see you playing on saturday night, thank you for hooked us up, and don't forget to give me the address to download your CD
Mike: I hope you can hear again man! Hopefully this weekend more of the locals who were off at the wedding will be back to help polish off the rest of the beer!
Joe: Happy 100th man! We got ya pretty good! I'll see you thurs night. Post a link to your band's website.
Marion, David, GE-boyzzz: AWESOME jumping with you, especially the 6 way tube into the blazing orange sunset. Also big upps to Kevin for finally SLOWING the HELL down! Joe... please follow suit (pun intended).
Yeah, I can hear, just had a bit of a headache is all, part of why I decided not to get on the sunset load yesterday. Hopefully next weekend I can get 3 or 4 jumps in, then get my license the weekend of the 9th. Since Bridge Day is the weekend of the 16th, I won't be jumping if I end up going there, but that gives me a few weeks to work on my canopy skills before I (hopefully) go down to DeLand for the Scott Miller course.
I just sold my car (YAY!) and have e-mailed Scott Miller and confirmed a slot for the essentials course Saturday, Nov 13th, if anyone else is interested in going down there with me. I've also pre-registered for the 3 day flight-1 school in late December.
My fiancee and I have decided to get married while we are down in FL, and we are thinking about doing a skydiving wedding. Anyone have any experience or info on that?
Congrats man. I'd love to join you for skills camp but I can't make it that weekend. SOON though. Maybe when they go to the tunnel I'll go to the canopy course.
hey mike i have no exsperance on skydive weddings but i have been married 3 times so i can tell you that your in for a hell of a trip lmao if you need help on the honeymoon let me know as well
i dont know how many people will be at the drop zone the next 2 weekends cause of nationals i know all the teams are going so i thought about taking it easy for the next 2 weekends but i want to throw a big party for my 100th like have a pig picking and a keg for saturday night if everone wouold let me know what they think about sticking around so i dont buy a pig and a keg and have to drink it all and eat it all bymyself it will be in 3 saturdays counting this weekend
It's too bad there weren't many people around Saturday night. Two cases of beer and a case of soda and 5 of us to drink it.
Any word on how Stuart is doing?
Mike
Damn - I missed the Corona Light! I was with Stuart & Karen though, and if you guys had left any, I coulda had one Sunday ! Stuart's done with the surgical crap and stood up today for the first time since the surgery, and only like the 3rd time since his landing. PM me and I'll update ya! It'll be a long recovery, but he should be okey dokey if he takes it easy.
Yeah, $2300, 1k of which is going to camps already, plus wedding expense, the rest is going into the rig fund. By spring I'll be jumping my own gear.
Mike- I'll be there as long as its not the weekend of the 16th and I'm not working. Probably going to be working a lot of weekends the next two months but the overtime will help pay for gear, so it's all good.
Pam- don't worry, I'm sure I'll be buying a lot more beer in the future. Give Stuart and Karen my best.
Eric who all is going to bridge day because Saturday the 16th is when i was planning on doing it cause so many people will be at nationals for the next 2 weeks and the next 2 weekends after that i will be out of town i plan on jumping when i am out of town and do not want to get my 100th jump at a strange drop zone i guess as much as i want everone there i will have to do it with some people missing but i really want to have a party when i do it i was thinking of a pig picking and a keg and what ever trimmings we can get are hands on but anyway if everone would give me some feed back on what they think it would be great
Pam if you would tell stuert that he is in our prayers and that im so happy that the surgery was okay let him know that he is asked about alot and missed at the dz and send love and kisses to karen too
smootches mike
ps dont forget to feed the dog and water the plants
Hey man... top of the hill is easy to find. There's a parking lot on campus that's really close by. You'll have to take a ticket to get into the lot, but it's free to leave after midnight.
From 40, make your way to franklin st. Pass the Varsity Theater marquee and make a left at the first light (the big intersection). Go one block and make a left on cameron ave. Immediately make another left into the pay parking lot beside Swain Hall. Take a ticket and park. Walk back towards franklin st. You'll pass the art museum on your left, then a big sign that says "Carolina Theater", just after the sign will be the door for Top of the Hill on your right.
Hell, I thought you we're talking about that redneck bar near Bunn out near the DZ. I was wondering why Joe,s band would be playing there. phew, I'm glad we cleared that up!!!!
hey i also wanted to ask Dawn the rigger Dawn has brought up the thought about haveing joes band play at the thanksgiving day boogie but joes bad memebers wont play for jumps so what dose everone think about starting a joes band plays at the thanksgiving day boogie fund and everweek we can put a little in the pot and see if we can raise enough money for these guys to come and if we dont raise enough we can give the money to joes barber cause with a head that big we all know he has to work extra hard to cut that hair and he would should be compensated for the extra work he has to do
hey i also wanted to ask Dawn the rigger Dawn has brought up the thought about haveing joes band play at the thanksgiving day boogie but joes bad memebers wont play for jumps so what dose everone think about starting a joes band plays at the thanksgiving day boogie fund and everweek we can put a little in the pot and see if we can raise enough money for these guys to come and if we dont raise enough we can give the money to joes barber cause with a head that big we all know he has to work extra hard to cut that hair and he would should be compensated for the extra work he has to do
You guys are so sweet. My barber doesn't do any extra work I bring in my own chain saw when I need a hair cut. As far as getting the band out to the DZ it's something I have to discuss with Nancy. As nice as the fund is I think we should work things out with Nancy first.
HOLY CRAP - a party, have-fun-after-hours atmosphere at CSS???? People hang around after beer light on the weekends? REALLY??? I may have to join you ...
(Rigger Dawn here; home today with a BAD cold. Otherwise I'd be working on your gear, not reading and posting here.)
Marion - I blame you, fully and totally. You and your slide-out. OK, maybe the UNC kids had a little to do with it, but really ... what do they know? I'm not sure they're even legal. I've heard them referred to as "jail bait" more than once.
Or maybe I should just blame this on all of the freaks. (Ellis! I missed you last weekend; did they tell you?)
Dawn #2 - you're #2. Be proud, and say it loud. Plus it's easy to remember - Dawn 2, BK 2, etc. I thought no other credentials mattered - is this still valid? Don't be a hypocrite! Stay true to your principles, woman!! (E-mail sent regarding your intricate rigging needs.)
Eric - thanks for the CDs and help in the store and all, but stop being uppity. BB gives out the BK numbers, and there will be no dissent. I really believe David should become BK #3 - what a gorgeous black, white an silver kit. What new soda flavors should we explore this weekend?
BB- I had some new ideas for a team name; they all involve canopy choices. What do you think of: "GO BIG OR GO HOME!!" or "AIRLOCKS RULE!!"?
...that's what I thought.
Joe & Mike - I think it would kick serious *ss to get Somebody (?) and the Something Somethings out here to play at Thanksgiving. Talk to Nancy, and if it comes down to collecting $$ I'll do it. Hey, it worked out for Biff.
My cold medicine is kicking in, and I'm off to bed. Thanks to you all for making CSS a really fun place to work.
Jason, Thats what I thought. The place is Bunn is kinda scary even for skydivers. But the Thanksgiving boogie sounds cool. I'd pitch in for that. There will be a 50way invitational that weekend so that means lots of folks from outta town and multi airplanes.
I love this thread. I havn't been on in a while (been a little buzy) and it's still alive!
Stuart's hanging in there. Sometimes he's quite lucid and at others he's really out of it. Sorry, Jason your atempt to visit him fell at the wrong time. One of the GE guys was one of the first to get to him ...I think it was Ellis. Stuart remebers your help and wants to pass on a thanks.
BB- I had some new ideas for a team name; they all involve canopy choices. What do you think of: "GO BIG OR GO HOME!!" or "AIRLOCKS RULE!!"?
hmmmm... too many exclamation points. Sounds like you have been hangin out with Ellis too much. Speaking of which. Ellis, we need to talk. Your use of the exclamation point has just gotten way out of hand... consider this an EP intervention.
Dawn #1: sorry to hear about your cold. Yurginix is also under the weather. He seems to think that the BioGen group did some kind of bio thingy to the DZ while they were here... maybe he's right...I dont know... I just do math... but not that arithmetic crap.
thanks Dawn I hope you are feeling better , I asked John about you today, you are the the most sweet skydiving chick and friend I hope to see you soon.
Hey Karen ! I hope that everything is all well, thank GOD your husband is OK , please send him my regards and don't have to thank me , it was part of been me (helpful when they need me) please keep us update and we are here to help in anyway we can thanks for been so sweet and take care
Sorry you're sick, Dawn. We had ANOTHER freeflyer show up yesterday (Jason from Chester). Friday just brings all the freaks out, I guess. Jason, David, and I had a fun upside down casa load-before-sunset.
You missed a pretty funny scene as there were only four slots available on one of the King Air loads- two went to Jason and David, because they hadn't jumped yet, and we picked numbers to see who would get the other two. (Eric and I won )
Speaking of David, he wore this crazy navy blue and white swirly jumpsuit! Watch out, dude, or you'll get your BK number revoked.
Oh, and I'm pretty sure you can blame my kick ass trailer with the electric slide out for any after hours fun.
Congrats on 500, Marion, and 200, Dawn. The video was great.
Brian- thanks for letting me try on your rig today, that is helping to cement my decision to purchase a Mirage G4. I think I'll wait to do my next hop & pop from altitude until I have a custom fitted rig. By the time I landed today, my feet were numb.
Hopefully I'll be able to get off work early enough sometime over the next 2 weeks to make a jump or two and get my license, since I won't be back at the DZ for a full weekend until the 23rd.
Also- I am looking for someone to go down to Deland, Fl with me Nov 12th-14. I'll be leaving sometime Friday afternoon and coming back Sunday afternoon. I'll be taking the Scott Miller Essentials course there, cost is $175. I'll probably just bring a tent and camp at the DZ or something, but if whoever comes with me (if anyone) prefers, I can rent a room or something. Post, PM, or catch me at the DZ if you want to go with me.
Dawn- next time we do that hybrid, I promise not to flip the six way base a full 360 and send Eric flying 50+ feet up into the air. Although that was really fun too. (I wonder how a Neptune measures negative fall rate? Eric?)
Thanks for the pie, guys. Three showers later and I still smell like whatever dairy product you hid under the Hershey's and the sprinkles.
David- After the shirt you wore for the 200/500 jump, I KNOW you've lost your claim on BK #3. Speed star next weekend?
Margret - Congrats on 500. Were the pies colorful enough for you? Melinda - You're just jealous you have no black... no black means no Black Nights. Black Nights- If we make Marilyn base (Sit? hint hint) I'm going after the #1 spot. Else, Eric I'm taking you out in freefall and ensuring my spot as #3.
Brian - It's time to throw away that rw suit. Also, we need to talk to this girl from state who is slacking on the ncsu skydiving club.
Ellis - ???
Eric - You forgot to give me a copy of that coach rating info paper. Sorry about your BK demotion.
Marion & Dawn #2 : Congradulations on the big double zero jumps! My 200th will be coming in a few weekends... we can take another hack at that hybrid! The video is already storyboarded... I've just gotta find the time to do the gruntwork (wed or thurs). It'll be at the online or at the DZ by friday at the latest.
Dawn #1: Sorry... being uppity is all that keeps my head from exploding when i'm running students around for 10 hours at a time.
Jason and Randy from Chester: Thanks for the jumps, no thanks for the farts!
My new Official Black Knight Safire will be leaving canada this week, bound for a new home in my javelin soon :)
I will now return to my all nighter (currently 2AM), editing a video project, and studying philosophy (exam at 9am). Whoop-de-shit
Marion- Let's try the hybrid again for Eric's 200th, we should be able to get some practice in between now and then. And if not, who care's . . . that funnel was fun and the video was even better!!
Thanks everyone for coming along and sharing all the fun!
i hope you guys think of something cool to do with my 100th it sounds like the 200 and 500 jump for dawn and millisa went over great i hate i missed it but im really trying to hold off and get my 100 on saturday the 16th so that i can have a party with a pig picking and beer so i can do 4 jumps next weekend if you guys can think of something cool to do and we can do a few practice jumps but if not im sure i can work on some solo stuff i have a big one way compititon comming up for the one way team and i need to do alot of coaching for myself lmao
Dawn were there bagles in your pies i didnt know you got pied for the 200 and 500 jump i think now were just making up reasons to pie people. Im cool with that but i was woundering did anyone pie John R for making his 1000 thats a pretty big deal if you ask me so i think one day after the tandoms are all done we should get him maybe he will start sticking around cause he will feel loved what dose everone think.
I'm sorry !!!!!!!!!!! I didn't want to miss that , now I feel like a bad friend, but work responsibilities didn't allow me to be with my friends, I'm sorry MARION David, Erick,Dawn??,Joe and everybody else I'll make it up to you guys
Hi All. So DAVID here wants to start a new thread somewhere because he said "But...It takes so loooong to scroll ALLLL the way to the booottooom" in a real whiny way so I guess since he is the "NEW GUY" in town we should not listen to him at all and keep our thread here. :)
Great jumps this weekend even though it was one of the more shitty weekends I had with the whole getting "laid off" and my canopy having a big hole in it now. But you know what...the first thing I did after I got the boot was jump...and I came back the next day ready to jump someone elses canopy because I just love being at the DZ and seeing all your beautiful faces...pie covered if you're Martin.(or is it Misty) Anyways, thanks for keeping a smile on my face this weekend, all of you!
hey joe did you ask the band about the thanksgiving day boogie thing to see if they would play
and im really sorry to hear about your job but you know what fuck it go for the music thing alot more chances in getting laid at being a cheloiest ( it think the spelling is right) in a rock group is alot grater than working in an office somewhere anyway i got dodgeball tonight with the rest of the drop zone dodgeballers and were going to have agreat time . mandy even if we use a guys name its cool we all know who were talking to and you know what your the only one we can do that with i mean try calling joe like a jim or a james see its not the same so mary just remember we love you very much cause you have the coolest camper at the dz
Thanks man. It was fun. Got to nickname a new jumper. Does PK post on here? Had a cutaway and got her license in the same weekend. I did see a guy that had a cutaway on his check dive. The general thought on the ground was "Even if that dude screwed up everything on that dive, he should still get his license, he's proven he can save his life" I still can't believe I met a jumper (Amanda) from my hometown. We even went to the same high school. I'll definitely be back and this time I'll even bring my log book.
come to florida!! i am a friend of daves and i have a spare bed room. come visit and we will jump at sebastian this weekend. warning: the weather is crap right now... dont know what the weekend is looking like.
PS give dave hell!
PPS gotta love the expression on that boy's face. loving it!!

I already give him enough hell. Hey you should come up here if the weather down there is crap. I've got lots of space and I'm sure dave does too. Looks like weather is gonna be nice here. Sunny High in the 70s.
Marci (haha), congrats on your 500th! That hybrid was so much fun... and the video makes it all make sense now. I wonder if we could do that again on purpose? I bet the BK's could pull it off. Speaking of which... I think youre right... speed star this weekend and all the BK No's are up for grabs.
i would love to come up there but alas i own no wheels. but i am sure i will meet you all sooner or later. and who ever was thinking of going to deland on in nov go to the keys boogie instead!!! it is gonna b a blast. chow
BB- There's no way I could do that again even if I tried. I fruit looped the entire formation!
David and Joe- See you Wednesday!
Randy- Come back soon to finish watching the next 2 hours of Jackass episodes, and bring some Chester freaks with you, but keep Jason away from the spicy foods before you visit.
Cynci- I'd love to go down to the Keys, but I'm short on $$$ right now. I think a bunch of CSSers will be in Florida at the end of December, so we'll definitely have to meet up somewhere warm and sunny.
Okay everyone it was brought to my attention that i use proper use of periods and stuff like that in my post! So i will try in the future to let you guys breath when you read what im writting.... Last night the dodgeballers won the game. Are very own Em and Dawn # 2 were a great asset to the team. not to mention just a great ass period. It was the best matches we have had since we began playing! i know are dodgeballers at nationals would be proud of the way we played.
I cant wait to see the video of Mary's 500 the jump sounds like it was a cool one. and being able to throw Eric up i really want to see that. (i wounder if he was scared) The big question is could you guys do that to joe with a head like that it just seems gravity would not alow it to happen.
Well i must get ready for work remember my 100th is going to be on the 16th so everone plan on comming out i cant wait to see you all this weekend
Married?????? S*%& T , I need to give that guuy a call, when are you going back to Fl? I may go next week so lets see if we hook up , we can talk more at the dz ......... later
I'll be there later than the regular FF Friday time- probably just for sunset. I have to make up time at work because I'm moving out there (mattress, cat, more books...) this afternoon.
Mike- I'd love to be on your 100th. I'm not going to Bridge Day, so I'll be there. It seems like we're pieing someone every weekend!
-Maureen/Mallory
Edited to add: David- you'll like my nail polish this week. Sort of a thank you for wearing the neon shirt on Sunday. Maybe now I can be the speed star base for the BK number jump? BB?

I'm working on the movie right now. It's going to take the guy at skydiving movies a while to approve it after i submit it. If somebody has enough space to stream it i'll send it to you as soon as i'm done, hopefully within the next few hours.
I have a dedicated linux server that I could host the file on, I just need to set it back up for FTP again. Not sure about streaming though, I'm not very good with linux.
CSS...It looks like it's happening. Big Pretty and The Red Rockets will be performing Saturday Night during the Halloween Boogie. I'll post a new thread...but let's keep CSS thread here. Just wanted OTHER people who are planning on coming to the Boogie what was going on. :) WEE!!!
Mike...thanks for heading the donations process for payment of the band.
If anybody's bored tonight, come out to Chapel Hill. The video is almost done as of now (7:45pm). If anybody wants an advance screening come on out... we can hit a couple bars afterwards.

I'm going out if anyone wants to go gimme a call. Lucy's is having a beer pong competition tonight. WOOHOO!!!
yippee. I can't wait till your band plays at the Thanksgiving bhoogie! I'll be doing the video for the 50 ways so, I'll be there with my dancing camera suit on.
Mike, when is you're 100th? With Stuart out of service I won't jump but I'd love to stop by to cedlebrate and through a little pie!.
I've only been away 2 weeks, when did all the new girls arrive ... melinda , mary, margot, margaret ...???? Are they all freefliers with pink in their hair? Do they superman fly accross the grass? I can't wait to meet them!
hey Karen i am planing on doing my 100th on october 16th i havent got feed back on the pig yet i dont want to buy one if no one is going to eat it with me the only request i have is for a bagel. Thats from dawn number 2 but shes number 1 in my book lol.

miss you guys, karen
I can't tell if you're being serious or not...We call marion any name that starts with an M...because well to be honest with you everytime we see her someone is calling her something different....I think she's a stripper and she's got a few aliases.
I think she's a stripper and she's got a few aliases.
That's awesome about Thanksgiving. You know I'll be there because, hey, it's where I live. And Somebody and the Something Somethings absolutely rocks. Is there a collection at manifest or do we give our money to Mike W.?
Karen- Sometimes Melinda, Mary, Margot, Margaret, Martin () and I do some pretty cool 6 way head down stuff when no one else is around. Everyone has pink hair now, but we might change it for this weekend. It all started when Eric called me Marilyn for a day. Downhill from there.
well mike i is the one that brought up the fund raiser for the band if you give money to mike w he might spend on the new stripers hanging out at the dz
we have to come up with 500 big ones to make this happen and we got a month and a half to do it. now we raised 400 bucks for a dog that needed our help and i feel like joe should be no different. and if we cant rais the money that just means we love biff more. Sorry joe
but i think we should keep the money at the dz and i think maybe dawn # 1 would keep it locked up for us in the rigger loft but we should ask her if its okay
this thanksgiving boogie is going to rock i cant wait
I'll definitely toss some money at it, but I probably shouldn't be the one COLLECTING it, as I'm the student selling everything I own to jump, your money MIGHT not be the safe with me
Hopefully I can make it out there sometime after work one day during the next two weeks, as I'm working every day up to the weekend of bridge day, and obviously won't be jumping that weekend.
Karen- send Stuart my best, hope he recovers quickly.
Eric- Let me know if you need me to host files for you (now or in the future) so that I can configure my linux box for it.
Mike/Mike W/Little Mike/some other way to differentiate me from Mike I.
The official 500/200/Frunked up hybrid video is currently exporting to quicktime. Keep your eyes on the "newest videos" section of skydivingmovies.com for the Marion's 500th, Dawn's 200th, Hybrid cartwheel video.
Sorry Mike I.! I'll give all my money to you. Maybe we need to have Mike numbers, kinda like Dawn numbers. Why is it that I have 10 different names but the two Mikes have to share?
Mike I - You know how to make me feel soooooooooooo special! First bringing me bagels and now saying I'm Dawn #1 in your eyes. See you tonight for some dodgeball!
But as I told everyone I'm easily confused, so I have to remain Dawn #2. If I'm ousted as BK #2, then I really will be confused!
Eric- Thanks for the work on the video!! I still think of you as BK #3 and will always remember the days when all 3 of the BK's agreed.
NEWSFLASH... The video is UP on skydivingmovies.com. It's at the top of the list under "Newest Videos" It's good for some laughs, I hope you all enjoy it! (Ohh yea, and give it a good rating!)
Yea... I don't know what's up with all the BK controversy recently... Can't we just go back to the original lineup and initiate some new members?
And yea... after watching the video in slo-mo a couple times, it looks like it would be possible to cartwheel the entire formation and keep it together. I think it's a matter of the first hanger (Marion) corking out with enough momentum to get everything upsidown, and then the second hanger (me) doing a big layout with enough momentum to carry his half of the formation all the way over the top. I wonder what would've happened if we'd all held on?
Re: combat speed star... Can I be the base? Please Please Please?
haha... yes. as long as you wear something other than those colorful freefly pants of yours. Find something more suitable to a BK jump... something with black, white, grey... maybe a little brown in it.
BB- My toenails are black and white this week! Does that count? I have to ask you, BB, because you're BK #1... for now. David, do you think we could have a BK freefly revolution? If I do a sit base...
I don't think I ever HAD BK status. Still too colorful. The nail polish is just enough BK to let me jump with y'all.
From State, I go up Capital and then take 401 north to 56. They keep closing lanes further north on Capital and it can take forever to get there in the afternoon.
See you soon!
Almost forgot- Does anyone need a mattress? It's an RV queen (slightly shorter than normal). Let me know if you want it, because it's just hanging out in my living room now. It's plaid, if that matters.
I agree with you on this, we do miss Stuart and Karen very much!!!! Karen, the girls are missing your "pinky" handshakes!!!
To all the BK wannabes- As Scotty would say "if you're going to be stupid, you better be tough!" Have fun, good luck and don't forget to turn on your cypres in your combat speedstar! I'll bring Cutaway this weekend to pump you all up! I'm off to booty fly with Amanda instead!
Where is Dawn #1?????? I miss you! I'm no longer a BK but I'll always be a Dawn!
Where is Dawn #1?????? I miss you! I'm no longer a BK but I'll always be a Dawn!
Awwwww; I miss you too, sweetie. Do good at dodgeball tonight. Your job is to be a "human shield." You must especially protect Dominick and Greg at all costs.
And yes everyone, I'll collect the $$ for S and the S S's. (This will consist of relabeling the "Biff Fund" cup.)
Eric - when I got home tonight, I found that my bad puppy had chewed up my travel CD case .... I think including all of my Rancid. So if you're game I might have some CD-burning requests for you in the near future.
Man, if I keep posting like this I'll need my own profile. I'm open to user name suggestions. Anyone?
Karen and Stuart - I really miss you guys. -Dawn #1
hey dawn i think you should think of something involving breast and red hair lmao
okay everone we lost both games last night and now we are done for the season. We all played one hell of a game and a big yaaaaa hooooo gose to the MVP of the night EM she did such a great job. even though she lost the game for us lmao just kidding
dawn thanks for collecting the cash too we need to let everone know that we have to raise at least 500 bucks and i say that if we raise more than that we need to buy a pinuata and fill it with skittles and whompers and maybe even a bagle or 2 for dawn #2 and if no one wants to do that we can just get a keg
And im sad to think that Dawns job was to be a human shiled for Nick and greg What about me and brian and Scotty okay maybe not Scotty, but what about the rest of us lmao were special too
He free flyers i might try to come out tomarow if at all possable so hope to see you guys there if not i will be out on saturday for sure i can only do 4 jumps all weekend long
and anyone wanting to work the Rocktober metelfest on oct 23 there will be 21 bands and it gose from 11 am till 11 pm and its going to be a big party however we do have a demo jump going to go on there and a booth i need help so if anyone wants to help let me know
Dawn #1 Rancid??? I think we all need a copy of Wild Cherry's Greatest Hits or would that be Greatest Hit. I know BB would love it! What about it Eric???
Dawn #2 I miss pinky shakes on the plane.
Mike, I'm sure I will not make it up there for your 100th on the 16th. Enjoy the jump and the pie.
You can't swing a dead cat at CSS without hitting a Dawn ...or a Mike.
If anyone is going to CSS from North Raleigh this week could you stop by and pick up my rig. It goes out of date on the 22nd. I'd like to get it repacked and make at least one jump before I go to Chester to do big way videos.
Stuart is hanging in there. He has some weakness in his legs and still can't get around without a walker. Anyone is welcome to stop by the house and visit if you're in the area.

Our thoughts are with you Karen. Give Stu our best.
Forget about the Dawns and Mikes think of the Melindas/Martys/Marilyns/Missys/Margrets/Margeauxs/Martins/Marcias/Marys/Madelines/Matilda/Mirandas/Melissas
Karen, I can probably make the time to grab your rig and take it to the DZ if nobody else is able to, just send me a PM and let me know. I'd probably have to pick it up sometime during the evening one of these days and I'll definitely be back at the DZ before the 15th, if that gives you enough time.
I just did my 23rd jump today, and I owe a lot of beer. At this rate, I might as well just buy a keg for the Thanksgiving boogie. If that is actually an option, let me know everyone, and I'll do it (if everyone can agree on a beer).
Hopefully I'll be able to make it out there at least one day this weekend and finish off my license, depends on work. Seeya then.
Mike and Mike, thanks for the offers to pick up my rig. You guys are the best. Sparky and Kat just left and they took my rig with them and will deliver it to CSS this weekend. karen

I LOVE YOU KAREN!!! I heard bout your girls at nationals...That's just crazy. When you hear from them tell them their #1 fan said HELLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!
Only 3 more jumps til my A license, assuming I can improve my accuracy for at least two of those. I'm hoping to get one more in tomorrow if I can get off work in time, and MAYBE get the other two in next week sometime, but I really doubt it. Definitely the weekend of the 23rd if not sooner.
Accuracy is overrated. Especaily when the spot is dreadfull .... or the first group out of the CASA takes 9 secounds to begin their count on the green light. I'd give you extra points for that cow field landing I watched you do 3 weeks ago. You picked a good field, missed the power lines, got turned into the wind and I didn't observe you wiping any cow poop from you feet. keep up the good decisions karen
Thanks for the vote of confidence. I got two jumps in today, now all that remains is my check dive and the test. I learn a lot every time I jump, so as long as I can keep that up, I should be ok. My accuracy is definitely improving, but it's been a while since I landed in the peas. I'm not going for PRO rating accuracy, I just want to be sure I can do a better job of judging the winds and altitude than I do right now. Practice, practice, practice.
Okay i just want everone to know that i have got the pig and the cooker i have spent about 200.00 bucks on my 100th jump and i will start cooking the pig at about noon on saturday and it will be ready after the sunset load about 6 pm. If anyone wants to bring trimmins to go along with it it would be nice. If people can make diserts other than the pies i will be wareing that night lol.
anyway i hope that everone will have fun and bee there for my 100th jump well see you guys on saturday
I'll be there Mike. Thanks for bringing the pig. Does anyone have requests for food to go with the pig? Salad? Pasta? Veggies? I'll also bring some beer and a few pies...
I'm working a lot today and tomorrow so I'll be out there late afternoon Wednesday-Friday. The stuffy nose should be cleared up by then, so y'all (David) can stop whining about my not jumping with you. (Although, really, do think Eric's hybrid would have worked if I'd been there? )
Sorry I'm going to miss your 100th Mike. I'll make it up to you soon by getting video of some jumps. I should have a working camera helmet of some sort in the next few weeks :)
You see Marion, the reason the hybrid worked is because i went NO LIFT! I could see the whuffos on the ground scrambling to call 911!
BTW, i'll probably be out thursday before leaving for WV.
What do you guys know about the back of the line-up?
I just bought a new (my first) digital camera yesterday, in anticipation of bridge day, and since I'm sick and dying, I took the day off to play with it. Here's some of the results.
OK listen up people !!!!!!!!I don't have a cell anymore, I'm trying to simplify my life and save some cash, so for those of you that are trying to get a hold on me GOOD LUCK hahahahaha, I do have everyones number and you all have my work # also you can try my e-mails or smoke signals or whatever that f...k you want , Erick I'll be caaling you today or tomorrow I need to ask you something , and for the rest I LOVE YOU ALL
Mike W.- gotta love the Cutaway quotes. I have the dvd in my trailer. (Thanks Dawn #2!) I think we're watching Drop Zone this weekend.
Ellis- We love you too! I know you got rid of the cell because you were tired of getting phone calls from us at the dz wondering how in the world you could work on a sunny weekend afternoon.
OK, so my congestion is gone and I havent f...ing jumped since last Wednesday. Tomorrow looks bad, but who will be out there on Thursday?
I wish I could say I'd be out there, but with the way I'm feeling now, I probably won't leave the house until next week. Ear infection plus severe sinus congestion/headache is not good for jumping. I hate being sick.
Dropzone is a much better movie in terms of acting, but Cutaway has better actual jump footage, IMHO. The movie quote game is fun. "Pete, nobody cares about skydiving, SKYDIVING from a 747, alright, NOBODY!" I could give you more, but that should start you off.
Good morning everone. Its so shitty outside right now. Looks like no jumps for today. Dose anyone know the weather for saturday. Im going to be pissed if my 100th is a flop because of weather. And now i have to cook the pig unless anyone has a frezzer to keep it in for a week lol. Is anyone else bringing anything to go along with the pig. Lets see if we can come up with some more food and have a big shin dig on saturday. Ive already spent 200 bucks and it would kill me if it were a flop.
Im sure dawn # 2 has a good bagel resipe somewhere. If not im sure i can warm your buns for you .
Elis are you still planing on going to rocktober metealfest with me. Im gona tell you its going to be a long day but i think well have a blast If anyone else is interasted in going check with Nancy this weekend and let her know.
Marsha what day is the movie going to be played. And is there going to be refrshments served. I think that we also should have a motie python and the holy grale party. I havent had one of those since i was in my early 20s ( not that long ago)
And we also need to start taking money for Joe band and the thanksgiving day boggie we need to raise 500 bigs one so we need to start doing it now befor its to late and joe is stuck holding the turkey
Karen I hope that you and Stu are doing well tell him that we all miss him and he is in our prayers everday.
AND REMEMBER THINK PIG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!(OR BAGEL)
I think we should move FF Friday to Thursday this week. I have all my kitchen stuff in my trailer, so I was thinking about cooking dinner. Let me know if you want dinner (yummy chicken curry) so I'll know how much stuff to get. (It will be a late dinner because I plan on doing a night jump- I mean jump on the "sunset" load. )
I'll probably get out there pretty early (noon?) since Friday looks like sh*t.
I'm making the chicken and rice. If you want to add something else, bring it. I think the beer supply is running low, so more beer would be good.
So on Thursday it's me, Joe, Eric, Ellis... Anyone else going to be there? David? Other GE Boyzz? Non-freaks are welcome too. (BB, that includes you. Too much flat flying recently. )
Hey! Just cause I'm wearing booties doesnt mean I'm flying on my belly. I wont be able to make it tomorrow though. I F'd my shoulder up in my soccer game yesterday... so I'll be on the ground for a little.
Mike (do you have a mike number yet?): Yes... its SkyBlade from now on... haha
Totally off topic, but if any of you happen to be a halfway decent VB.Net programmer, please let me know. I agreed to write a program for my boss, since I'm sick, but it's been so long since I've written code that I forgot how to do what I need to do now.
Brian, BB, SkyBlade - Suck it up... you don't need a working shoulder. Just pull you're reserve every jump, I'm sure Margret won't mind packing it up for you. What would Redline do? Come on! To me it sounds like you're scared of someone stealing your precious little flatflying suit (with booties).
Until it’s settled through our combat speed star I’m assuming BK#1… lets face it I have more black and white then anyone else. How do you like that power play? And to think, this situation could have easily been avoided had you done a few more freefly jumps with us... like Eric (BK#3). Brian that puts you at #4
My early classes tomorrow were canceled, so I'll be there. And if we actually have a decent number of people, and maybe a plane, I'll skip my AI class and make a day of it.
I got the movie Dropzone ready for the weekend.
Not sure about Redline, but I think we should make Joe Turbo.
And Mary, try not to cheat on us by jumping at TSP or TPS or whatever this weekend

Did you just say Martha was PMSing??
Joe Turbo is too white....gotta be something like Genghis Kwon.
Shoulders....who needs shoulders just put both toggles in one hand and pull to your crotch. I'tll be even enough of a flare.
Beer will be supplied by myself. I can cook too if you want. I am a chef afterall. I'll bring my cooking gear if you want.
If Dave is bk1 and eric is bk 4 and bb is bk 3 does that make me honorary bk2 since I jumped a lot more ff jumps than both bb and eric?
I feel like chicken tonight...like chicken tonight!!!
dave...the drama continues...she told her about what happened. I'll fill you in tomorrow. :) Exciting life of day's of our lives.
Joe, are you drunk? I don't think anyone was named Genghis Kwon in the movie. Eric is #3, Brian #4, leaving Dawn as #2 because she hasn't been mean to me, yet. I might consider making you honorary #4 just to push "SkyBlade" to #5.
Hey Joe... did she suffer a "buffer overflow error"
Wine? Dude, that's pretty fancy. I'm a beer person, so I don't even own any wine glasses. Bring glasses if you don't want to drink your wine out of a mug!
Hey folks, FRANKENOTTER is here... come jump! There are some students here now, but not much for the later afternoon. Hurry up and get your butts out here!
How long will frankenotter be there? I *MIGHT* be able to get out there this weekend if I feel better, but right now it looks doubtful. Speaking of which, I think I'm gonna have to stay home instead of going to bridge day with you guys. Being sick sucks.
Hint: Think of a conversation on a day with no jumping due to plane snafus, think Hungarian, then think of the original anti-establishment CSS numbering scheme.
(Yes BB, this would be before that WHUFFO started the whole BK thing. If anyone wants the true BK origin let me know via PM or e-mail. I won't recount the sad, sordid story on a public forum.)
Joe, I have some bad news. Yep, our S & the SS's Thanksgiving fund is still at $23, just like it was 2 weeks ago. So, if your band gets any other offers for work on the Sat after Thanksgiving ... you might wanna jump on it. Or else someone needs to get the word out .... or maybe contribute some actual greenbacks?? I'm sure the people on this thread really love you.
(I know I do ... though not as much as I love E****. You're welcome for the free rigging.)
I'm sure everyone loves your music, and I know some CSSers support you in Chapel Hill. I plan to do the same once winter gets here and I'm still awake at 11 p.m. BUT ... no one's handing over any cash, man.
On a more positive note, I'll bring accompanying food for Mike's 100th pig-pickin bash Sat. Hope to see all of you who aren't at Bridge Day there!
Madalyn - the invitation to your chicken dinner extravaganza was warmly appreciated. I hope you guys had a great time. (Love you, girl ... and love the new magenta in your hair! Glad your congestion cleared up and thanks for sharing your remedy.) As long as you guys have been watching skydiving movies, you REALLY need to get your hands on Gypsy Moths and/or Fandango for WAY HUGE laughs. I'll try to get them via Netflix if anyone's interested.
p.s. Dawn #2 - miss + love you!! Having a good week?
On a sad note. Dawn #3 and her boyfriend Ross were in a major car accident in which the drivers of the car that hit them unfortunately didn't make it. Ross and Dawn are both in good spirits and doing well. Ross will probably be grounded till January at best and Dawn hopefully will be grounded shorter than that. Last I heard Ross had a broken collar and Dawn suffered ankle and hand injuries.
Keep them in your thoughts CSSers and freakflyers(Not that you're not CSSers but they were part of our small family)
Great jumps today...thanks to John Lyman who actually did a sitfly jump with Eric and I...that was a shock. Great jumps with Ellis, Marion, and Dave as well. Love you all.
Dawn #1 is that you hey dont give up on joe and the kwononites just yet ill do some leg work tomarow when im there for my 100th jump and well get the moeny besides we have well over a monthe to get it and i havent been there to donate yet eaither so im sure we can raise more money.
OKAY EVERONE THERE IS PIG TOMAROW.Keep your paints on joe the pig is already dead. anyway everone please put the word out to bring something with the pig i have spent 200 bucks already to pull this off and so far i have gotten more phone calls of whos not showing up then who is.
but im sure everone will bring whip cream lmao
I wont be out today cause i have to pick the pig and cooker up in the morning to early so i will be out saturday and staying the night. till then well see you guys
This thread ought to have it's own zip code by now.
Mike- I'm here this weekend so I'll help you with the food. I'll bring a bigass pot & burner for a side item to consist of green beans and potatoes. Let me know any other ideas or help you need. I'm gonna have to get lunch now that I'm thinking about food.
I look forward to seeing everyone & their piece of blue sky this weekend
I'll be there ....at least in time for pig and pie! We may make it Stuart's first big outing if he is up for it. I'll try to bring a side or beverage.
I've never seen Gypsy Moths all the way through, so If you get a copy of that I'd like to see it. CSS used to have a copy of Fandango but I think it burned in the fire. Heather might have a copy.
I think I may be able to get out there tomorrow, so if there's anything you need me to bring, Mike, let me know. I'll probably bring a few cases to finish off what I owe, so if anyone has requests, now's the time. I'll also bring a case or two of soda for the non drinkers (me). Mike- what time will you be doing all this?
I just purchased the Gypsy Moths DVD off E-Bay for $10, so once I get it I'll let whoever wants to borrow it. Still looking for Fandango, however. Found it on VHS, but I only buy DVDs now, so still looking...
Karen, it's good to hear Stuart is doing better, I hope he is able to make a fast recovery.
Joe- it sucks that your string of bad luck lately has included today's mal. Glad you were able to get it down. I'm still debating about coming out tomorrow, and if I do (and I'm not in the class), I'll help with the freebag. If you need more equipment than what I left with you, ask the front desk for my home number or something and I'll bring up whatever you need. Hope your gig went well.
Karen- it was good to see you and Stuart again, glad to see he is doing ok. Sorry that I didn't say goodbye to you guys before you had to leave.
Mike- thanks a ton for arranging the pig and everything today. It was good to see a crowd on the deck after dark. I wish I could hang around later on a more regular basis. Also, congratulations on 100!
Marion- good luck. That's really about all I can say.
Ellis- it was nice meeting you today, thanks for the help with carrying all the gear.
And now- off to sleep. I'm starting to lean towards trying to make it out early enough to talk to John about the class. Ugh, I hate waking up early.
Stuart is was really good to see you and karen out to the DZ thanks for making that special trip out that really made my 100th and im glad you enjoyed the pig
Well i can say im finaly glad that weekend is over the pig the pie. It was alot the canopy class was great too.
Im still looking for people interasted in going to the Metalfest next next weekend. so far its Ellis myself and Janice that are going
Hey Eric ill be staying at the dz next friday so if you got video from bridge day id love to see it
And for more news on the joe Kwon and the Kwononites playing at the boogie we have raised about 100 bucks so we only need 400 more to get them there. so if we can donate everweekend just a little each we might be able to make this happen. all the money left over if we raise more is going to pay for biff to get heart worm treatment.
Mike, I'm sorry i missed your 100th man. It sounds like you had a whole lot of fun without me though! I wish i could've been there to partake in the lunacy.
Bridge day was really cool. BASE is a really really neat thing to watch, and a really awesome community as well. I've really got the itch to go jump off a bridge somewhere! Unfortuntely the weather was CRAP (40 degrees, rain/sleet, windy!) so i wasn't able to get very much footage. Szabi has the tape from the weekend, as well as some really cool pictures.
There may or may not be an arrest warrant out for Szabi in West Virginia. You'd be amazed at what constitutes reckless driving in that state.
I'll be out this friday with the new BK safire! See you all there.
Much love to the Dawns, the Mikes, the Wood family, the GE boys, Maryann, Margret, Margarita, MaryLou, Marilyn, & Marion, and finally Joe (Can i borrow somebody's 170?.. ohh, and a mirage freebag?) Kwon.
Hey at least it can't get much worse. I must say I'm in good spirits thanks to all my freeks. You guys keep making me smile...oh and some of you not so freeks...(but soon to be ie. karen and julia).
Luckily I found everything including the freebag and handle. So I can't complain about that. And the main didn't have any damage to it so that's even better. what else...great jumps yesterday to end up the day. Thanks everyone at keeping me smiling.
Jason, I was running up and down from the exit point to the landing area trying to keep tabs on Szabi and Akos. We were all at the after party at the Holiday Inn partaking in the free beer and pizza, asd watching the premier of Continum 2.
The whole trip got me really really interested in BASE. Let me know if you're headed out sometime and need an extra cameraperson or anything like that.
NO, we don't pie for birthdays!! For a long time, CSS was pretty much pie-free. (Thanks for nothing, freaks.)
Hey Joe --- didn't you promise David 2 weeks ago that you'd start a new thread? So he wouldn't have to page down and everything? (Hint - start at CSS Thanksgiving thread. I'm sure we'll all jump on it.)
Jason - we called Eric Sat. night about 11, and he was "at a hotel, watching a movie" so his story checks out.
As for Szabi; you guys obviously don't work with him. He narrowly avoids arrest AT LEAST once a month due to traffic stuff. His bridge day story was entertaining (especially the part about the polite cop "notifying" him of the soon-to-be-issued warrant that no one was available to sign) but for him this is just a way of life ...
Kwoo, the bulk of Gypsy Moths is a sappy boring soap-opera love triangle thing; you're not missing anything. BUT the DVD has an awesome "making of" feature with all the stunts, which are not only incredible for their time but still incredible to watch today. Very different from demos we see now.
On the other hand you guys HAVE to see the skydiving part of Fandango if you haven't yet. I'll try to get my hands on a VHS.
Mike - thanks for the pig and for good times Sat. night. And THANKS for your kindness when I was having a hard day on Sun.
We have $90 so far for the S&SS's or The Kwononites, or whatever we're calling Joe's band this week. If everyone reading this would just fork over $20, we'd be there!!! C'mon, people ...
Dawn- why would we want to start a new thread? This is the third largest in this forum. Did Joe ever get the freebag down? I'll definitely chip in $20 or more this weekend, just remind me if I don't bring it to you first.
Hey Joe --- didn't you promise David 2 weeks ago that you'd start a new thread? So he wouldn't have to page down and everything? (Hint - start at CSS Thanksgiving thread. I'm sure we'll all jump on it.)
I couldn't do such a thing. I like having this thread be all inclusive CSS thread. I'll start a new one when they lock this one down.
In reply to:
Mike - thanks for the pig and for good times Sat. night. And THANKS for your kindness when I was having a hard day on Sun.
I second that thanking. It was SUCH a great way for me to go play a show. I'm sorry I missed all the making out and the strip rock paper scissor though. Bummer.
In reply to:

You guys are awesome. I dunno what to say about this. I'm at a loss for words. People giving up a jump ticket to hear my band play....brings tears to my eyes....or is that because of the girl drama of the week???
Freaks are we moving FF friday to Thursday again this week??? Marion what's the status of a plane for us? Eric Happy 22nd..."he's such a baaaaaaaaaaaby"
Freaks are we moving FF friday to Thursday again this week???
Not for me. My ear still hasn't cleared from jumping on Sunday. It's better today, though, so I'm hoping it'll clear by Friday.
I was about to ask why you're asking me about planes, but then I figured it out. I'll look out my window tomorrow morning and let y'all know what's out there.
The weather this week has definitely been S%@T! At least it's supposed to clear up for freefly friday.
I need to shoot a chase sequence over the weekend for class. If any of you folks have a crazy idea for a chase sequence of some kind or wants to star in a student film, let me know
I just got The Gypsy Moths DVD today, I'll try to watch it tomorrow and remember to bring it out this weekend if anyone wants to borrow it. CO starring Gene Hackman. He looks to be late 20s-early 30s in the cover picture. Wow.
I've got to work half a day tomorrow, but I should be out after that to make my A license check dive (FINALLY!) and mabe get another one or two in after that. We just finished watching The Gypsy Moths. For being made in 1969, its actually not that bad. Some of the gear they jump in that movie is a little scary.
Well, I finally got my A license yesterday, and today the clouds have closed in and aren't going to be letting up as far as I can tell. I guess my first "real" jump will have to wait until next weekend.
For everyone who was at dinner last night- thanks for taking us along, we both enjoyed it.
well maybe i might be worng, but i think something is happining out at CSS. Could it be were all getting closer and doing more together. I have to say thank you to all of you who let me get the drunkest i have been i over 13 years. I did have a great time on saturday.
Mike W i would like to welcome you to the world of skydiving. And it was nice to meet your other half. Is she going to start jumping now. The family that jumps together is just a crazy family lol
Stuart how much longer are you going to be out we miss you at the DZ do you think you might be back by the thanks giving day boogie.
Guys we still need cash for the Joe Kwon band so be thinking of that when your at the DZ this weekend.
I really hate im going to miss next weekend i cant wait to hear the florida stories lmao
but im sure you all will be thinking of me at the bull ridding if anyone wants to go im leaving on thursday and will be home on sunday . It would be nice to have someone ride with me if anyone wanted to go.
My fiancee and I did our first two jumps together (I bought her first jump for valentine's day- she bought me a tattoo) but she has not jumped since then (over a year and a half ago). She has decided to go along with the skydiving wedding idea, however, so that will be her 3rd if she doesn't do any more before then. I'm trying to get her hooked, but it's not easy.
Mike

Ok. So it's 4 am on Monday and I haven't gone to sleep yet. You might be thinking, "Why doesn't Marion go to bed? She only got a few hours of sleep last night."
Well...
I went to see The Grudge with Joe and David. The movie was not half as entertaining as Joe's scared sh*tless reaction to whatever was going on.
We went to Joe's house to hang out afterward. For those of you who have not had the pleasure of visiting Joe in his natural habitat, he lives in a nice little colonial williamsburg style subdivision.
Sometime between 11:30 and 2:00, my car was the victim of a bb gun drive by. (Yeah, read that again. BB gun drive by.) The whole driver's side window was shattered. We were checking out the damage when a cop drove up. We flagged him down and learned that there were several cars on the street that had been shot. So now I get to deal with glass repair people tomorrow morning. (I know it's already Monday- "Tomorrow" just means I'll get a few hours of sleep in between now and then.)
Thank you Joe and David for helping me deal with the gun violence in the suburban ghetto. Joe- Have fun in Florida. David (and Spot)- Thanks for the ride.
Man that really sucks. Those damn BB gun gangs must have had it out for your cute civic. They must be non-ricers. No but secerously, I am sorry for you, I know how it feels to be with out wheels and $ for a while. What is this about joe and Dave Jennings (you must call him by his full name, he loves it) coming to florida?!! For real?! If you guys come this weekend, sebastian is doing night jumps saturday night!!! And we are having a halloween boogie firday through sunday. Plus I am sure there will be flocking and such and lots of crazy freeflying. Please come... please please. I am lonely down here. You are more than welcome to crash at my place. PS: it is WAY warmer down here, 85 all day! If that is not enough insentive, i dont know what is.
Thanks. It could have been worse- they could have taken something out of my car, like my laundry.
Dave's here in Raleigh, but Joe is in Florida playing in the tunnel and at Deland and ordering Ouragan suits for him and David. (He's coming back during the week.) By the way, if anyone at Ouragan reads this, David says he wants a black and white freefly suit, but he really meant to order pink, orange and neon green tie dye. If you guys could do that for him, that'd be great.
I think a bunch of our little freefly crew will be in Florida at the end of December, so we can get together then. Have fun at the Keys boogie- it's absolutely gorgeous down there.
Wow... a BB gun drive by... now that's stranger than fiction...
It's 2AM and I've been sitting in front of a Mac in the computer lab for the last 5 hours animating Peter's swoop from the 500th video... Only 5 hours to go! Why did i decide to become a comm major again?
Anyhow, it looks like the whole chase sequence thing will be due wednesday, so if anybody wants to run around & chase stuff tomorrow afternoon, I'll make you a star! Let me know.
Well, obviously I wasn't as CSS last weekend. I just HAD to go to Chester because I LOVE to make $57 skydives. (weather sucks). Good news? Jello shots galore. Who are the Rodgriguez Brothers????
This weekend, back to chester - women's record thangy, but then, the FOX INVASION returns to CSS for some playtime, so maybe you can be brave and belly fly with us, or you can fear for your life and have us freefly with you .
I miss everyone, though - seems like I've been on the road for months!!
WOO the fox's return to CSS huh...well just know your ff mascot has cleaned his suit all up and is ready to start jumping again. Can't wait to see ya'll again.
Dawn 1 do you not love me??? even though you're gonna marry me and become Dawn Kwon? How very sad I am.
Marion there is no more glass in front of my house...thanks for getting your vandalized car off my property...it was making my house look like the ghetto. :) Kidding with you hon...I'm sooooo sorry all that $hit happened. I promise next time I'llpersonally shoot out your window so when the BB Gun ghetto gang comes by they'll choose someone else's car.
Cynci...sorry I didn't call you up while I was in FL but we didn't even have a means of getting out to sebastian...we jumped at deland and that was it. maybe this winter.
Dawn 1 do you not love me??? even though you're gonna marry me and become Dawn Kwon? How very sad I am.
Sweetie, of course I love you; don't get all sensitive on me. I just love Marion and Elis in a more special way.
Besides, I'm all about a marriage of convenience ... so whadda you say? (Greg - if you're reading this - I hope I am NEVER in Vegas at the same time as you and Nick.)
Eric - I'm really excited to see the results of your "Peter's swoop" project. The name of the technique escapes me but I know what you're talking about, and it sounds awesome. It also sounds like a lot of work. Give us a showing sometime!
Mike W - I'm not sure what's going on this weekend, only that we'll have a CASA. Sounds like a lot of the regular RW people will be gone for various events ... so you'll probably see the same people you've seen for the past 2 weekends. (Are you sick of us yet?)
But - I'm hoping we'll see some people who were down at the tunnel last weekend --- are you reading this, Dawn #2? I miss you!
Dawn- no, I'm not sick of you guys. I'm sure it will take at least another weekend or two for that Seriously, you guys are all really cool, I'm just usually not very talkative.
Marion- being that I'm too poor to afford a new one, and too new to fly like you guys do, stay away from my suit . Of course, I guess I COULD take my fiancee up on her offer to make me one, but I'm not too sure how that would turn out....
Eric- I'd like to see that video also, as well as the bridge day footage if/when you have it.
Hey everybody! It sounds like it's been a long week for all of us ... Therefore I officially declare tomorrow night the innagural FreeChug Thursday in Chapel Hill!
The Swoop animation (rotoscope more specifically) came out pretty well. It's a tad choppy because the Peter's covering so much damn distance from frame to frame, and because there was a bit of camera shake in the original footage. I tried to burn it to a CD the other day, but the computer ate my disk Szabi still has the footage from bridge day, i'm not sure what he did with it. Ohh, and on a more exciting note, I'm taking a screen printing class next semester, so I can make some awesome custom T-shirts and such :)
Unfortunately the weather looks shady on friday, so I'm going to have to put the UNC vs Duke skydiving sequence on hold. HOWEVER, I will be filming a chase sequence here at UNC tomorrow night (starting at 7 or so) and I need someone to co-star alongside Marion as either the chaser or the chasee in a 3-5 minute short film. Whoever decides to act gets a pitcher of beer on me!
Post, email, or call me (696-1426) if you can make it!
Alright, i just submitted the swoop animation to skydivingmovies. Hopefully they'll approve it and put it up in short order.
I still need an actor/actress tonight to co-star in this whole chase sequence. It's not a speaking role, all you really have to do is chase Marion around in exchange for beer So come on, who wants to volunteer?
Let me know if you come up short on someone . . . I'm really busy right now, but worst case, I'll be happy to chase Marion from Kenan Labs up to Franklin on the way to catch the bus home! You could really entice me if Marion promises to faceplant for me.
Hehehe... a faceplant ehh... I'll see if i can work something out Hopefully Joe or David will show up so that you can go home and get some sleep... that is unless you want to run up to Franklin street and get your drink on
On another note, the swoop animation is up on the top of the "Newest Videos" section of skydivingmovies.com. Due to all the weird effects, it's kinda large (45meg)... and that's after cutting the size in half. Cool shit :)
Unfortunately the weather looks shady on friday, so I'm going to have to put the UNC vs Duke skydiving sequence on hold.
Hey Eric - I guess I found the thread. UNC vs Duke skydiving? Hmm - tell me more :) A bunch of us from school are going to be in Chapel Hill tonight at Players for an early Halloween party. An open bar and bus rides back mean this could be trouble...
Yes who is this mak fellow? Have we seen you out at CSS mak? You must be from Duke though because they were having some early halloween party thing at PDC tonight. I knew a couple of guys who went to that.
Marion, eric and jules great seeing you guys out this evening...sorry I had to peace out early but I had to take some drunk people home. the woes of being the DD. Love you tons for coming out.
David's not coming to Chapel Hill tonight. Something about driving to Florida early tomorrow...
Sorry guys i need to steal him for a couple days. He will be back next week with some miner scratches and bruises, him landing a stiletto at night, on flat ground should make for some great pictures. And I got him some pink and red glow sticks. Hope the weather clears up for you.
The weather was sh*t yesterday and this morning, so I'm sure y'all are having more fun than we are. Enjoy the night jumps! Get some pictures of David with bright glow sticks on!
Edited because I can't spell "glow stcks."

Whooo.... yet another awesome and interesting weekend at CSS! After crappy weather friday and early saturday, we got around to jumping at noon saturday, and kept them going until sunset, and we were lucky enough to get a full day of jumping in on sunday. This weekend saw the return of Asaf, magic tricks by Pete Luter (& his lovely assistant, Dawn #1), as well as the usual campfire shennagians.
BIG BIG BIG THANKS go out to Marion and Mike I. for all their help shooting my most recent project. Lets try to keep the content of this one quiet... words can't justify the spectacle that we've created! THANKS AGAIN
Eric i think we should do an unvaling on this one at the drop zone , and we could have one of those red carpet partys to view the film. I think it will maybe be the best short film ever created , You have my word that the content will be a secret , but on the same hand it will be the most talked about fim at css Marion you were spectacular in your performance. And should be nominated for and oscar. And Eric i think that you school will hold you on there shoulders and carry you down Franklin St haling you as the new video king. A crown you diserve to ware proudly.
I cant wait to see the number 1 short film of the year and everone at css You need to be looking for this in theaters soon...........
Well i had also got blue and green for me so he stole those and i got the pink and red. But i am sure that i will get him one of those days. Jumping was beautiful down here, i cant wait until i get to jump up there with you guys on thanksgiving. I have heard so much about you all it would be nice to put faces to names. And I hope we get to meet up down here some time over christmas. Have a great week and I'll see you soon.
At the Thanksgiving boogie, maybe we could sneak into David's gear bag and put neon patches on his black and white suit. Or we could tie dye the white parts. Hmmm...
^Marion, if David sells me that suit I'll tye-die the white parts
Yesterday's film will be in the computer and through postproduction by 5pm tomorrow. I don't think that I'm quite going to make the 3 minute mark.... so i may need to incorporate some slow-mo scenes. Either way it's going to be.... well... interesting.
I'll be up all night editing, call me if you're: A: bored... or B: at a bar on franklin street... I'll come join you for a little bit.
Hopefully i'll be able to make the live election night coverage get-together tomorrow, I'll call ya.
I don't think that I'm quite going to make the 3 minute mark.... so i may need to incorporate some slow-mo scenes.
You should play the credits at the beginning and at the end of the film... That should get you more some more time... even though its very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very boring to watch. Either that or think about baseball.
I did forget about the 270 bucks only 230 to go i hope we can make it but im affraid i have to keep the fund raising on the down low. I dont want to make anyone mad at me. So if anyone wants to give money please see me or Dawn #1 and we will make sure it gets in the joe found.
Eric what kind of party do you have in mind for the unvaling of your short flick, I cant speak for marion or earl but i can be avalable for autographs after wards
well im going to bed so well talk to you guys later
Eric what kind of party do you have in mind for the unvaling of your short flick, I cant speak for marion or earl but i can be avalable for autographs after wards
Oooo- We could have a showing at the dz and then an after party at TradeMart #17!
I can't wait to see it! Slow mo would be, um, interesting.
Joe- I like the ark. Kind of appropriate for the weather we've had for the last couple of weeks.
It's all edited and finished... I just have to wait for it to render! i think it came out really well considering the circumstances under which it was shot! MUCH THANKS AGAIN to Marion and Mike for their awesome performances!
You'll all get a chance to see it soon!
Ohh, and Dawn #1, Thanks for the Moon Ska comp, I used the first song in the film!
There will be no debasing of any of my stuff with new color!
Dawn #1 - Please take care of my baby this week. She has only been in the care of a few riggers. Also, please be aware, some insanely jealous, and color blind individuals have been making threats on my baby.
Freaks - We'll have working video this weekend... let the insanity begin.
Cynthia - People here actually buy beer when they blatantly land through the beer line (twice... in a row) I'll start making a list of people's favorite beers for you. Thanks for a great weekend.
Oky the count is with joes 12 bucks that hes got to bring is now 282. we only have 218.00 to go. i know that i will be giving a little bit more. but if we can try this weekend to knock this out it would be nice.
and another thing Eric i think we should cell tickets at CSS for the unvaling of your new release. I was thinking about camping out at the Trademart # 17 in hope to see earl jones, and if i did bring him to the unvaleing . I can say this! this short film may just be the film of the year
Dawn #1 - Please take care of my baby this week. She has only been in the care of a few riggers.
I've been anxious to get my hands on your gorgeous baby for some time. Don't worry, they're competent hands. New rule - no freaks allowed in the loft while David's rig is in there! (Jumpsuits are another matter entirely.)
In reply to:
Freaks - We'll have working video this weekend... let the insanity begin.
OK. So you know how I told you guys that I wouldn't be there Friday afternoon because of the Duke game Friday night? I'm skipping out on Duke basketball to fly with you freaks. That's how much I love you guys. Awww...
See you on Freefly Friday!
David- Thanks for knocking some sense into me. You're bringing everclear AND your new camera? NOT a good combination!
i wish i could come out on free fly friday, I have other obligations right now and then i have to get the kids on saturday, and i will come out there then so they cant put terrior in your hearts. And make you single not parntel people hope that you never have kids lol. any way cant wait to see you guys this weekend.
Eric i will be there on saturday so if you have everthing done can we plan the unvaling for then.]
And I am also getting a little sad. I thouthgt for sure that more people would ask about the film. But its like no one is saying anything. They just dont know what there going to miss.
Anyway you guys have a good day and well talk to you all later.
Love mike
P.S. Dont for get to water the plants and take the dog out
Cynthia - People here actually buy beer when they blatantly land through the beer line (twice... in a row) I'll start making a list of people's favorite beers for you.
Hey it is not my fault I am piss broke after buying a new bird man suit. And if I had the money I would have taken every body out that night just because of those awesome night jumps. And anyway i thought beacuse of my spectacular night, stand up landing IN THE PEAS (mr. slide in on your butt) that that would have made up for some of it. I thought I made it up to you.
(edited because i cant spell spectacular)

^WHAAAA? Can't go out drinking??? Sure you can! If anybody wants to bar-hop in Chapel Hill tonight, give me a call! I can't wait to FF and party with the Hispas tomorrow! The weather for the weekend looks pretty sweet! See you all soon!
Hey joe if your really a buddy can you loan me one of your 6 hot girls i cant get a date to save my life, and when i do get one they tell me im to exsperanced for them. Then they sleep with everone else but me. Go figuer that one out. I guess im the lucky one though.
I hate im gona miss you guys this Friday but ill be out saturday for sure and well see you all then.
Happy birthday Elis i love you man your number one in my book
Eric will you have the film ready by saturday and if so how is it looking so far.
Speaking of CSS, is anyone in touch with an older guy there named Jerry? I met Jerry at a few CSS boogies a few years ago. He was a riot! If anyone sees him, tell him Cross Keys Stacy says Hello.
i never knew jerry's last name. he was always "jerry with the really funny accent." he some how got my phone # when i lived in philly and left some FUNNY messages!!
i'll be at zhills for new years. My ridiculous job doesn't let me travel much.
Freaks - This weekend promises to be interesting... back by popular demand... EVERCLEAR!
"Popular demand???" Whatever! As I recall, no one would touch the stuff.
Oh .... wait.
Wasn't that the innocent-looking bottle that led to a certain degree of nudity + depravity, plus rigger-on-rigger action?
... I guess I stand corrected.
Bring it on.
In my arsenal, I still have a whole 5th of fine French vodka from a save getting icy in my freezer. And I happen to know that Ellis is quite fond of it ... let's make this a birthday he'll never forget (or one he'll never remember?? - either way it's all good.)
- Dawn #1 p.s. Joe - Your canopy is finally back home!! Came in today - looks great.
... nudity + depravity, plus rigger-on-rigger action?...
Bring it on.
This is going to be a fun weekend. I'm still at work so I can leave early tomorrow, and thoughts of nudity/depravity/rigger-on-rigger action are getting me through the evening. That and 3 cups of coffee. And checking this thread every 2 seconds.
Joe- Don't rip any more holes in your canopy, ok? Glad it's back.
Oh- this will be fun. I want to wake up around 6 so I can work and get back to the dz as early as possible, but I have a bad snooze button habit. So if anyone wants to call me tomorrow morning to get my lazy ass out of bed, please do. Don't have my number? I probably don't want to talk to you at 6 a.m. (unless... never mind ) If I don't answer the phone I'm either ignoring you or taking a shower or both.
Can't wait to see all you freaks tomorrow. No one shot out my car window this week, so I actually have jump money.
You all know Dawn #3 and her man Ross were in an accident. I just couldn't find the article but here it is for anyone who wants to read it.
Yikes... that happened like 300 yards away from my house. Do you have any update on their condition?
D#3 was at the dz a few weeks ago. She had a cast thingy on one arm/wrist and some bad bruising/swelling on her knee, if I'm remembering correctly. She'll be back in the air soon. Ross wasn't there, but I think he broke his collarbone.
hehe.... YeeeeHAW. Happy Birthday man! i hope you got my message. Anyhow, it's getting late and i'd better hit the sack so's I can get out to the DZ early tomorrow. See ya there.
Like it...My canopy is back!!!! Woah...that means I don't have to rent the canopies anymore??? Woah..I have jump money!!!!
Ellis FU TOO I LOVE YOU ANYWAYS.
Oh...ellis please come to the show this week on thursday night...I think this really hot korean girl is going to be there. All you freaks should make it a point to come out to this next show because well...it's a great pre-freak day party at the gig...OH yeah this coming gig is free too.
Hope to see ya'll there. And See ya'll tomorrow bright and early.
The video is ready, the video is ready. Css'ers be prepared to be thrilled, and dazzeled. and we know that you can sit in the whole seat but for 3 min you will only need the edge of the set, because of the suspense, and action. With an overwhelming preformance by the leading lady Marion. and the supporting Actor Me. With a special guest apperance by Eral Jones. And with very special guest to be annouced when the film is shown. The film of the year is ready.
Eric you cant show it till saturday when im there i cant be there tonight so if you get this please dont show it to everone if Marion wants to watch it you 2 watch it and then wait till im there for the unvaling please. But look if everone is going to tear stuff up and cause a riot at CSS then go ahead. I know the film is going to be popular.
Chuck, CSS has had a bunkhouse for almost 30 years. But for the first few years Paul and Nancy called it "home" Congrats. please give your sweet little wife Katie a kiss from her 4 way freinds at CSS
Can't wait to meet the HISPA contingent. If Ellis is a member CSS is in for some fun trouble this weekend.
Joe, The Foxes will be at CSS this weekend. Will you be on our loads ...please!!
I tried to get off early enough to come out and jump today, but to no avail. I'll be jumping as much as I can this weekend though, in preparation for my first (beer?) Scott Miller course next weekend in Deland. Still looking for anyone who wants to carpool with me. I'll be leaving sometime Friday morning-afternoon and coming back Sunday. Hoping to stop by the Mirage factory while I'm down there also.
Karen- good to hear that you will be back this weekend. How is Stuart doing?
Glad to here you guys had a great day. It was really rainy down here. I am really looking forward to those bon fires Dave Jennings is always texting me from. I hope you have one every night of the Thanksgiving day weekend so I can make up for all of the ones I have missed. And go easy on the everclear you crazies, that stuff could start a rocket.
Another fun weekend of jumping and I AM SORE! I'm not sure if it was trying to arch so hard, or the sabre openings (which didn't feel bad at all, actually) that did it, but my back is killing me. Managed to get in 3 great jumps, including my Hispas initiation jump (?) and my first (kinda) freefly (kinda) jump with Marion. I won't be there next weekend (canopy course in Deland- still have room for carpool), but I may be able to get in a jump Friday before I leave and/or Sunday after I get back. We'll see.
Thanks to everyone who jumped with me this weekend, especially to Michael for letting me borrow his 15lb weight belt. I'll be needing that. And a big thanks to the Hispas crew for the excellent food Saturday night. Quite possibly the best burger I've ever had. Really. And the steak was also excellent. If you got video of the tube jump, I'd love to see it.
Karen- sometime in the near future I'd like to talk to you and the foxes about learning to fly in the mantis position. I've been told it will help me increase my freefall speeds. Today I averaged 110mph with 6lbs of wieght, max of 121, but that was during a backflip, so I definitely need to do something to get faster.

Hey Mike, Marion, Joe, Elis and the rest of the CSS crew. It takes approximately 4 hrs and 10 minues without traffic to get there from my apt, that being less than the time it takes to get home to Myrtle Beach . Yea Mike you def. need that weight but don't forget to try working on that arch before anything else.
You know, every once in a while you run into a group of people that remind you why you love skydiving and re-inspire you when you'd only made a dozen jumps in the last 6 months and lost interest in skydiving. HISPAS and the FFF crew rock! I love you guys, can't wait till next time.
Wow... what an awesome weekend at CSS! I had an awesome time jumping and hanging out with the HISPAS!!! Thanks for everything guys, especially the awesome food and funny stories (George... your crosskeys story is a future classic!) Thanks a bunch for the Hispas shirt too!
It was nice to see the Foxes again. Congrads to Pam on surviving the weekend without a cutaway! It was also nice to see Rocky and Sherry. Rocky... you've gotta keep a tighter grip on that glass of diet coke the next time we toast!
Thanks to David, we'll soon have plenty of freefly footage to edit together... and hopefully i'll find a good deal on a camera in the near future so that we can have multiple angles the next time Marion funnels a hybrid (maybe for your 1000th ) I did my first few camera jumps on friday thanks to lots of great advice and help from Steve over the past few months. I can't thank you enough!
Lastly, Thanks to Pete, Larry, and Asaf for getting me up to do some BirdMan! I had a really amazing flight and can't wait to do some more flocking in the future! If anyone is interested in BirdMan, they'll be here for the Thanksgiving boogie with demos!
hey everone its monday and my ear still hasnt poped. this sucks Remember the last time Eric. So im hopeing today is today and i can hear again. Im really sorry i jetted on you guys saturday. but i knew if my ear wasnt going to pop i wasnt going to jump and i didnt want my kids to have to hang out all day for nothing.
Eric im really sorry i missed the video too ill be out next saturday and hopefully by then my head wont be so full of snot ha ha ha.
Mike W I think you did awsome on your jump with us Id really try to work on your fall rate befor you start going to aids to help you your still a young jumper and can really learn alot on your own. You did good with Doug and I And it was a great jump, because as Sparky would say we just f@#$ing relaxed and had fun.
I hate i missed all the HISPAS stuff going on i cant wait to hear the stories
well you guys have a great day and well see you guys later
dawn #2 you looked nice this weekend. I think its all the begals lol
As President of the HISPAs, I would like to say just this: CSS ROCKS BIG TIME
To all of the CSS people, our hearts are heavy and our eyes are full of tears, we miss you. There is no words enough to thank you all for your genuine kindness, and for being such great hosts. You made us feel at home as soon as we set foot at the DZ. Big kuddos.
To all of you, staff and gang: We love you and....We will be back!!!!!

It was a great weekend and nice to get in the plane after 3 weeks. It was excellent to see so many friendly faces... especially the Foxes and the Stuart sighting on sunday at the DZ. You look great Stuart! Keep it up, we miss you dearly and want you back! Oh and Karen... Lefty (the cute one) says hello...
Mike I: Sorry about your ear... take some sudafed...
Mike W: We'll get you squared away... lets do a 2-way sometime.
(When are we going to assign Mike #'s... hehe)
Also, There is another Tunnel Camp scheduled for Feb 12-13... so start saving some cash... in my opinion, its the best way to learn how to fly. There should be some teams attending the camp as well so it will be a good chance for some of the new jumpers to see some hot 4 way action up close... email me i f you want more info...
Cynthia- I'm sure there will be plenty of bonfire fun at Thanksgiving! Can't wait to meet you.
Mike W.- I'm so glad we finally got to make that jump! Your backflip was great. Maybe if you just did flips the whole way down, people would have no problem staying with you. That linked belly fly exit was fun.
Mikkel, Frenchy, and the rest of the HISPAS- You guys are awesome! Come back soon. I can't wait to try one of your crazy belly flying jumps and do some more sitflying with you guys! (Mikkel- buy some freefly pants )
Eric- Yeah, for my 1000th we should definitely try to recreate the hybrid flip. Did you know the video is up to 1219 downloads?
Mike I.- The video turned out great. We'll be famous. Try Tylenol Severe Congestion for your ear. I think you can also get Guaifenesin over the counter now. It worked really well on my ear a couple of weeks ago.
BBall- You need to do some freeflying, and bootie flying doesn't count. Maybe I could ease you into it with some flat fly/sit fly combo jumps? Or some back flying if it's the extra speed that bothers you?

Bootie flying doesnt count?? But its so much fun... and I only dont freefly all the time with you guys because RW is so damn fun. But I'm sure we can find the right balance. I want to make it out this friday if I'm productive enough this week... and I'll leave my booties at home... promise... will that make the freaks happy? Yes, dave, I'm talking to you too... and what the hell is a Black Night anyway and why do they have numbers?? haha
As Frenchy has said, we are short on words to express our thanks to you guys at CSS. This place rocks.
For all those who share some time with us as well as many fun jumps (9way rolling tube and subsequent getting to follow Joe on his back, tracking all over the place) our landing out thanks to Gary, the failed hybrid, etc , thank you.
Dawn (the rigger), Eric, Nancy Don, Bud, Marion, Asaf, Kelly, Marylin, Steve, Rocky, all of you that are part of CSS many thanks, and we definitely can't wait to go back there.
You HISPAs ROCK my world. I'm so happy to have met all of you guys. And I'm sorry I coudln't spend sunday with you but I had a lot of things to get done that day...and actually rest on the day of rest.
I must say I had an excellent time meeting and flying with all of you the 9 way tube and the hybrid was as funny a jump as I can remember. (looks like I need to work on my back flying :)...or tracking as it seems I was doing)
Marion and the other FFers Again a great weekend...it almost seems as if we're turning every weekend into a boogie weekend.
Thanks again HISPAs...I'm full and very happy to meet you all.
Week of Nov. 12th Freefly Friday and weekend: Marion is Queen. Unless she is dethroned during this week.
Also...this week Big Pretty and The Red Rockets will be playing at Top of The Hill in Chapel Hill on Thursday Nov. 11. and Goldies in Chapel Hill on Nov. 12th. And Next Tuesday Nov. 16th at the Local 506 in Chapel Hill. Freeflyers I can't wait to see you all for the thursday gig...and if we organize well we can turn it into a big late night after the show and just carpool out to the DZ together in the morning...all hungover and stuff. :)
Whoa... thanks for clearing that one up Marion... I tried to indicate 2 posts up with the "^^"
Mikkel- That is a nice avatar, but I was pretty sure Eric wasn't talking to you.
Now that there's Mike I., Mike W., and Mikkel, I think we need some sort of system to clarify which Mike we're talking about. We could do the standard numbering system, or we could have a Spice Girls style naming system- Floaty Mike, Clemson Mike, Rodeo Mike? Or we could number them in the order that they came to CSS.

Yea I didn't now about the ^^ thing, too many Mike's. I'm all for nicknames over numbers...my roommate ,who I might bring next time, is also a Mike but he is "Kegstand" to everyone since he joined Dixie. Can I be Dixie Mike instead of Clemson Mike though?
Hey Dawn, thanks for the info, I will call you guys tomorrow, and once again thanks. I think it is the other way around...you are the ones that rock!!!
Eric- thanks for sending me that pic. It's pretty much the only one I have of myself.
Brian- I'd be happy to jump with you, anytime.
Marion- So I'm officially "Floaty Mike" now? I guess thats better than Mike #2, but not as cool as SKYBLADE .
Dawn & John- Thanks again for fixing my helmet for me. It feels a lot more secure now, and I'm no longer worried about it coming off in freefall and impaling a tandem or something.
Hispas- did you get video of the tube exit and/or the 7 way that only formed into a 5 way? If so, I'd love ot see them.
I'm optimistically hoping to be able to come out Friday morning and jump before I head down to Deland, but I'm not sure how long it will take me to drive, so I may not be able to. We'll see. With a little bit of luck, I MIGHT be able to have 40 jumps by the end of the weekend .
Mike W: No problem... you only had to remind me 7 times! If i don't see you have a great time in DeLand. You MUST go eat breakfast at Graham's Kitchen in DeLand. It's the best meal you'll ever have, and it's only a mile or two from the DZ. Eat a gravy biscut and you'll be able to pull a pound or two out of your weight belt.
Everybody: I just won a PC9 on Ebay for $455, and it comes with a kenko .5, a no-name .45, and a 0.3 super fisheye (that's a $300 lens with a 180 degree range)! So muti angle FF jumps are close at hand
If I can tear myself away from the endless stream of film projects, i'll come out and do a WS jump or two thursday, and hopefully friday if it doesn't rain.

As long as I'm going 109 and sinking on you, you're Floaty Mike to me! I could try to get used to Skyblade if you like that more than Floaty...
Yay Eric! Keep your new camera away from my kitty cat- electronics and cat piss do not mix well. How's the jacket? My bag is soaking right now. (Not soaking in cat pee- that was Saturday- Soaking in soapy water.)
Mikkel- as Queen of the FFers, I hereby name you "Dixie Mike." Or Mikkel. Ooooo- what if we spelled it like "Dixie Mikke."
