The Profile box to "block private messages" sometimes also re-sets itself to blank. I keep an offline list of the names I have in that box, so that when they mysteriously disappear, I can cut-and-paste my list back into there again. So this e-mail option isn't the only thing that somehow automatically resets itself to a default value.
