I have visited a number of DZs in the Baltimore/Washington area and this is by far the most friedly DZ. The DZO and his staff were incredibly helpful from the start. Offering training videos, instruction and information from the start regardless of committment to train. They were very willing to find a solution for a bigger person than any of the other DZs in the area. They tried to find what would work best for me and never once gave me attitude or grief about the process. The regulars have been very willing to explain what they do and how they do it. While on the ground there are plenty of activities to be done to pass the time. Hot showers are available along with room for camping or even sleeping in the hangar. This will be my only home DZ regardless that there are three others in the area. The only drawback is the one Cessna 183(?). It is only able to take up four jumpers at a time and takes about twenty minutes to climb to 10k. This plane is exactly what you would expect to find for this type of DZ. The pilot lives at the DZ so you can truly schedule anytime to come up and jump. I would highly recommend this DZ to any regular, someone who wants to learn or just take a tandem jump!

I just made my first Tandem Jump with A Skydivin' Place. The people there are great. From the minute we walked in they put us completely at ease. Jim was a very good and thorough instructor and pretty hilarious as well. If anyone is looking for a place to try Tandem Jumping for the first time this is the perfect place. Now that I'm officially hooked after one jump, I know I'll be back up there soon.

Excellent place to learn to jump, Jim gives you hands on, one on one training, very experienced jumpmaster and a hell of a nice guy, as are all the people at the dropzone. Big landing area(even I hit it),weekends get busy but if you can go during the week, you pretty much have the place to yourself, perfect for a beginner.

Great DZ!!!

Review of: A Skydivin' Place Inc.
Pros: "Family" type DZ, lots of fun, nice people, lots of RW
Cons: Small single Cessna DZ

I am a bit biased because this has been my home DZ for 6 years, but I would not stay if it was not such a great place.

A great bunch of people, my second family.

We try to welcome everyone who shows up. There is always someone willing to jump with new people regardless of skill level. RW seems to be the jumping style of choice here.

Lots of things to do when the clouds are out - Basketball, Trampoline, motorcycles, horseshoes, fencing, volleyball, hot tub, movies, etc. When the sun is out we jump all weekend.

Come out and visit us!

Neat little Cessna DZ! Was made to feel very welcome and comfortable there since the first time I dropped in. Great facility, and they are almost finished an addition on the hangar.

Review of: A Skydivin' Place Inc.
  Pros: everything
Cons: nothing

Jim, along with all of his fellow jumpers, was a wonderful instructor. His ability to combine humor with instruction helped us to feel not only comfortable with him, but instilled the confidence within ourselves that we needed to make our first jump. I would recommend this quaint little place to any first time diver that wants to start out small--or even to an experienced diver who needs a new "family"!
