By far the friendliest and safest DZ I have ever had the pleasure of visiting. The DZO and staff are very approachable and will entertain your every question or concern. Many of the people who jump here are either active military or retired from the service and meet up here on their weekends to enjoy one another's company. The jumpers here are are not exclusive and will often approach the newbies when they are looking for someone to share a jump with or when they are short people for RW jumps.

They operate a P-750 most weekends that accomodates 17 jumpers on a single load. It's a tight fit, but the ride up to altitude is fairly quick (ten minutes or so). On busier weekends, or during boogies, the DZO will call in the "Raeford Express," a twin otter, to supplement the P-750 in meeting the high demand.

Students or new jumpers are treated well and the student/rental equipment is all top notch and well maintained. Fun jumpers looking to rent equipment will not have any trouble as the DZ has 25+ rigs on hand. When I first arrived 2 years ago, I completed my coach jumps with the Raeford staff and found the experience a positive one...Thanks Tico.

I'm proud to call Raeford my "home DZ." Tony, hats off to you and the staff! You have a great thing going...keep it up.

Finally got here at age 60 as an SOS for the old timers reunion in May. Tony treated us all to a freebie. He didn't even ask to see my log book (current again after many years on the shelf); he simply asked, "What's your D license number?" You never saw so many graybeards pile into the turbo. Great time.

I showed up a Raeford with around 80 jumps; everybody was very friendly to me. The camping and facilities were great, and the bar on site is a good place to hang out after a day of jumping. They had a 4 way scramble that I was lucky enough to get into. Jumping with pros, (Thanks Tony!) was a real learning experience for me, and they had some laughs too. The landing area was a bit challenging for me, not as big as I was used to, and the winds were tricky if I got too close to the trees, but I did OK. I stayed a little over a week there, and had a super time. I'll be back.

Today I made my first jump on my AFF. Tony was very helpful, and patient with me to get me setup with the class. My instructor Roy was top class, very professional. The staff was extremely friendly. The training was done in an effective style, but not pushy. Roy was able to instructor the info effectively, but kept it fun. They also had access to a wind tunnel that helped my learn body stablization with out jumping. I believe that helped my learning curve drastically. By the time it came for me to jump I was so confident in the staff I had no nervous about leaving the plane. I had a problem deploying my main, and Carrie was right there to help me, and eventually deploy it for me. Safety was definately a top priority at Raeford, as is having fun. During my canopy time the owner Tony was right on the DZ to talk to me. That really meant a lot that an owner would take time from his schedule to be involved with my training. If you are ever serious about learning to skydive, with out a doubt go to Raeford you will not be disappointed. Thanks Tony, Roy, and Carrie.

2 jumps complete and everyone there, the equipment, the instructors, the planes and the whole process so far has been fantastic. I can't wait till next weekend to get jumps 4 & 5 done. Anyone in the Fayetteville-Ft Bragg area wont go wrong by choosing them.

I recently drove 3 hours from Charlotte to Raeford for my first skydive. I arrived, only to discover the cloud ceiling was too low and we wouldn't be able to jump that day. Tony failed to call to let us know and so my entire family wasted 6 hours (round trip) of our day sitting in the car, not to mention the time off work. He offered a discount on a rescheduled dive but it wasn't even enough to cover our gas.

Needless to say, we won't be returing to Raeford!

This past weekend was my first time to Raeford. I travled 9 hours to get there and couldn't have had a better trip. The people there were all friendly and willing to answer questions. The planes were nice and didn't take to long to get to altitude. Im sure I will go back and would recomed Raeford for anyone who wants to have a good time and enjoy southern hospitality. Doc
