I have jumped at Skydive the Point on several occasions. I visited the first time with a couple friends but was immediately welcomed by everyone at the DZ. They use some of the fastest planes in the country, usually a King Air that gets to 14k in about 10 minutes. Carol Clay, the queen of skydiving, is generally organizing very successful and challenging RW jumps from 4 to 14 ways. There is also a solid group of freefliers so everyone can find someone to jump with. The nightly parties are not for the fainthearted and a blast for those that can remember them completely. You might have to bring a tent and there aren't a ton of showers, but other than that there isn't much not to like! I definitely recommend checking out Skydive the Point, one of the best yet for fun jumpers!

Freaking awesome time here at WP last weekend! Some folks from Skydive Suffolk joined this fun bunch of people of the weekend!

I was a little worried when I saw so many belly flyers... but there were some awesome freeflyers hanging out too that I hooked up with for a few jumps. The nightlife is awesome!! They are happy to do rainy hop n' pops too!!

People are friendly and helpful. They want you to come back and jump again. DZ is large with a few trees closer to the buildings. The PAX was one of the quickest flights to altitude I have had.

Having now jumped there for the season. I can truly say it's a great place. Everyone from the DZO to club memebers are friendly, outgoing, and watch out for one another. Aircraft is usually a Twin/Super Otter or as of late a PAC-750.

There is a good mix of RW and FF here with the wonderful Carol Clay jumping every weekend.

Come to STP and enjoy the fast climb to altitude, great scenry, and GREAT PEOPLE!!!

We stopped by to jump while in town. It was a Sunday over Thanksgiving, so not busy. We had to leave by noon and most other fun jumpers were recovering from a normal Saturday night so still in bed, but the staff woke enough of them up to fly a PAC load so we could get a jump in before having to leave.

Carol organized a 6 way, and we had a great time. Jumping with 4 extremely experienced jumpers made for a rewarding jump and we appreciated that no one minded jumping with low timers like us.

We really appreciated the attention shown to us and will be back next time we are in the area!

The point is great for R/W jumpers. I was there and jumped with Carol Clay. They had a Porter the day I was there and it's a fast climb to altitude. There are nice organizers there who will work with you and teach you. The winds kinda kicked up in the afternoon but overall the Point was fun to jump.

That was my second visit to West Point. Over a year betwenn both visits. We were greated very warmly by the staff and regulars upon arrival. All the paperwork and such was expedited in a fast and very efficient manner. As soon as we were ready we were invited to jump by the regulars and very nice dives were organized by very skilled people in order to adapt it to the different levels of the group. Our group level (we were six people) was ranging from 40 to over 800 jumps. Every one of us had a great time and great jumps.
The facilities were clean and comfy with plenty of space to pack. The landing area us big enough to avoid conflicts in the air. As for the view, it is truly spectacular. I am looking forward to jumping at West point again.

I'm a student at West Point and chose them because of the great staff and wonderful location. I have to pass a couple of other drop zones to get there
and I have never felt a need to stop anywhere else before arriving at West Point. They made it a special place for
me to jump and they are everything I could have hoped for and more from a DZ....highly reccomend

I was in search for a new home DZ due to a pending move to the VA. Beach area. I found Skydive the Point through the Dropzone web site. I visited their web site and signed their log book. Would you know it, the DZO wrote me back within 24 hours thanking me for dropping by the web sight and signing the guest book. I've just received my "A" and he told me not to worry, EVEYONE jumps together and he looked forward to Showing me around. Like I said, I've never set foot on the DZ, but I already feel welcome and can't wait to get there!

Skydive the Point in West Point, VA:
They have a Twin Otter usually, and on special occasions they bring in a CASA! Usually open only on weekends. Mostly RW with some freefliers. This is one of the oldest DZs in the USA, and a lot of old timers jump here, as well as newbies. In fact this DZ is a great place for new skydivers!
Great bunch of people! A very friendly, family-like atmosphere, where newbies are warmly welcomed to join in formations with the more experienced. No damn sky gods here! The whole DZ is very close knit, often going out to dinner together & partying in the clubhouse/hangar/around the campfire at night. If you come here & you owe beer, BRING IT!!
