I completed my AFF training at Skydive SF after taking level 1 at Skydive Monterey Bay. The DZ scenery is classic Marin/Napa with the ocean in the distance. Fog seems to burn off much earlier here than it does at, say, Monterey Bay. The staff was professional, interested, attentive, and very knowledgeable. It's a great beginner DZ--mom & pop feel, not a factory.
My only negative comment on the DZ is that it's flying a single C-182 (4-jumper capacity) and tends to get backed up pretty badly if tandem jumpers want to get video (which takes 3 of the 4 slots on the plane). The name's also a misnomer as it's really 85+ miles from downtown SF. Other than that, it's a great DZ.

Great scenery!! The staff is very friendly and extremely helpful. The instructors are awesome, all-around good people, with great senses of humor. I just got started, and the poeple here are very informative and willing to share their knowledge and experiences with anyone. They have a bbq, and you can grill up food while you're out there, in fact they have bbq's quite often, and that's always fun. Cool place to hang out. I definately recomend this DZ to anyone.

While the jump planes are just Cessna 182's, one of them has a 300 HP engine (stock is 230 HP) with electric speedbrakes. 4 jumpers from sea level to 12,500 ft in 12-15 mins. With Speedbrakes plane can beat tandems to the ground. Very friendly staff. While called Skydive San Francisco, DZ is actually about 80 miles north.
